Engr101, the CES sounded familiar so I did a search and saw that I'd done so before. I found that it's on the treasure chest, in the picture on the back cover of TTOTC. I don't recall where and didn't find a source for that detail yet. Good find on the poem. FF has said that the treasure is not in a cave. Although, that would be really cool, wouldn't it? My opinion, if he thought about safety that much, then the chest is in a very safe place other than things beyond his control (like weather and wildlife encounters). I thought F said in a quote somewhere that people who think the letters on the tc are "CES" need to look harder? Upon close inspection, I believe it is "CE5." Why? I don't know. Lol. I thought so too.

In that light I’m sure she won’t mind if I suggest to her faithful followers; get out your magnifying glass and take a closer look at the “CES” on the treasure box lock. And to many searchers I should also suggest that you >>take another look at your mistakes. The answers may not be nearly as complicated as you are making them."<< ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- I'm fairly certain that somewhere f said it was useless as a clue since it is nothing more than an inventory mark. Don't recall exactly where that's at but, it is out there somewhere. With that in mind, those who are curious should go to his site and confirm that this is indeed similar to how he marked his inventory. It is a non-clue.

At some point someone said CE5 meant Common Era 5 - but I believe it's also been said that the chest dates to 1150AD, which wouldn't be the CE5. Of course whoever put the CE5 on the box could have been wrong with they put it there.

Well, the CE5 is most likely a hallmark. But I'm certain that FF didn't place it there. People who collect artifacts such as this don't deface them.

CE5 is an accounting code for his books telling him how much he paid for the CT.
