Hi all, just wanted to say hello. I'm very late to the party, but my partner and I have been looking at this and have made some degree of progress, though everything we have 'discovered' is rather cryptic.
We know (at least some) uses for the dice, a little bit (but probably not everything?) about KNOWLEDGE, and we've solved 14211..., 11581...., 16211..., V2..., and ^9.... We have thoughts about other things and have tried out lots of ideas, but haven't made anything work yet. It sounds like we've got some catching up to do!
GeneticBlend, it's nice to run into you here! I remember bumping into you during Treasure of Camelot before life took over. Hope life has been treating you well!
I've missed participating in ATHs the past few years, but stumbled across Mysterious Writings during Pablo's this year, and decided to give this a try. Are past puzzles/solutions in this series available? I'm wondering if I'm at a bit of a disadvantage, not knowing how the previous puzzles were put together!

Not to hijack you, but the previous solves are linked in Jenny's message "Sacred Scarab Released".

Hi Shicho,
I think you are probably quite a way along through the puzzle and stuck at the same point as a few people.
Personally, I think the <>|= strings will be the next to last step. This is where I have hit a roadblock.
The clues, as you pointed out, are very cryptic and there appears to be more than one valid solution for how the <>|= strings might work. I haven't been able to get them to produce anything so am starting to think I have interpreted them wrong and it is time to find an alternative solution.
This puzzle is great fun but also incredibly frustrating.
Anyway best of luck, I feel you are very close.

Hello Shicho!
Camelot was a great hunt! Too bad people kept hijacking the site, and they had to end the hunt.
I'm glad you found your way to the MW hunts! It sounds like you have made a lot of progress!
Good luck!

Thanks for the encouragement, zupzel! Sounds like we're in much the same boat. Best of luck to you too!
And I agree completely, GeneticBlend; Camelot seemed like a great hunt; it's a shame about all the nonsense. Good luck to you too; sounds like you're on the brink!

Hi everybody, I'm new to this, and this is my first armchair mystery as it were. My husband and I just started to look at this today, and are pretty stumped...but got some help from you all, and so we wanted to add something, but aren't sure it means anything. The 3by3 squares on the scarabs back and then the remaining set of 3 on its head resemble the game board for Senet. Not sure if it means anything...thoughts??

We wondered about that as well. The rubric for the puzzle says everything we need to know is in the pdf, so that made me think it was less likely to use much about what we know of the game that isn't visually obvious, but I've not solved one of this setter's puzzles before, so who knows!

At least one element of Senet is probably in our puzzle: That is to move "snake fashion" up one column and down the next. A poser: Does our final puzzle consist of monographs (30 letters) or digraphs (15 letters)?

I've suddenly realized I know nothing about riddles, and can't wait to learn more...now I'm googling monographs and digraphs, lol...but I absolutely think "snake fashion" has something to do with figuring something out!!!
