Hello, everyone!
After being a ghost on here for a while, I finally made an account! I've only discovered Fandango a few months ago, and was sad to see that it doesn't have as much of a following as it deserves. However, I've since gotten SUPER absorbed in this treasure hunt and am really convinced that we can crack this thing.
The very first thing I noticed (weirdly enough) was the word "EAST" written as a reflection in the waves on pg 51, near Fandango's tail. I haven't seen much mention of it anywhere on the internet, but I haven't been able to get it out of my head. Is it obvious enough that it can be written off as a red herring, and that's why nobody has mentioned it? If not, does anyone have any leads?

cosmonaut. Welcome to the suck! No seriously, Welcome aboard. As far as East, yes it has been discovered for quite sometime. It’s purpose is unknown, but being so close to the end of the book and we are still getting compass directions at that point does raise a bit of a red flag.

Cosmonaut, I've read every post on this forum and Tweleve. And I've stared at that page a million times. And I still missed that!
So thanks for pointing that out.

Welcome cosmonaut! Glad you joined us!
As for the East (great find)- have to wonder, since it is close to his tail, if it can't connect to the sentence on page 4, "Here's a Trail worth following, so stay right on my tail."

Jenny - That's a great connection! And if you think about it even more, the word is to the RIGHT of his tail. "Right on my tail."

If you look at the page in a mirror, 'east' is correct. So what if you put the mirror part way across the page? A logical place to me would be to split the face at the top since half of it is in shadow. If you do that, you get this (if I can post it). I can't help but think it looks like a diamond ring. Even the end of Fandango's tail looked like the little metal prongs which hold a diamond in place. But...like so many thing in this book, so what? Attachments:
