Just to set the record straight, I was just correcting your claim to Fenn never saying we need to learn anything, which we seem to be in agreement now. I am glad you agree with dictionaries too, that is good progress. We differ on the meaning of specialized knowledge. To me if the information is readily available or can be learned without specialized training, manuals, etc then that knowledge is not specialized. There has to a definitive distinction between learned knowledge and specialized knowledge, otherwise, after the chest is found, thousands will cry foul and use the specialized knowledge excuse “I think kids have an advantage (finding the treasure). Don’t ask me to explain that.” Children They do Imo because there's one thing that gives them the advantage that is,more important then the rest of the advantages they have and it deals with the redneck with 12,kids and he lost his job.

There are a couple of reasons I think the "kid" has an advantage. The first is kids take things more literal than adults who reason and over think. This is backed up by FF's plea to simplify. The second is one or two of the clues is child related, third is the location of the treasure chest man be at or very near a place a child would visit. Finally it could be a play on words, kid being a baby goat.

This thread seems to have drifted away from the "Star Solution" topic. Perhaps that's my fault. Might want to return to it. My only comment on it is that I would hope that the solution does not require specialized knowledge. Imo. The star is nothing but some thing that Peggy likes to watch and that's dancing with the stars. Imo forrest just through star out there to see what searchers would come up with.

The follow the star solution does not require specialized knowledge a many would assume. It really is quite simple. Mary Christmas!!;-)

Wolf wrote: Yeah we do. But that's okay; nothing wrong with disagreement. Oh I think thousands of searchers are going to cry foul, for many and varied reasons; it's almost inevitable. Searchers have a habit of taking his verbal comments at face value and in isolation. Some of his comments are inconsistent. Which is one reason that I don't think he wants the chest found during his lifetime or during the lifetime of any of his family ... too much blowback from angry searchers. I think that should be stated "some of his comments 'seem' inconsistent." But regardless, there will be a small, but loud, percentage of searchers who put everything on the line and will find anything to grab onto to complain about. Myself, I'll have some empathy for them because I'm sure they have needs that weren't met in their chase. "Life's a b___", and all that. They'll get over it, though, for the most part. I have a feeling that once the answers start to come out, anyone feeling cheated will start to see that they were involved in something very deep. I could be wrong, though. It'll be interesting, assuming there is a lead hunter and they do find the treasure.

I appreciate your thoughtful comments.

Wolf- I am interested in star theory, more so if you have found it's location, and the vantage point to view it from. I think her name is Astraea, and is associated with justice. Let me know if that rings true to your ideas. Thanks!

Thinking waaay out of the box here...What if follow the star is the Star Card in the Tarot Deck. Never thought I would ever learn about the game of Tarot. This discussion has taken me there. I place the blame squarely on The Wolf for taking me there. Also found out that the game of tarot and gin rummy both came out in the same year.
