Hi astree (and all)....This looks great......I just received my book (will be reading tonight), and it seems if the hunt isn't solved by August 9th, 2017, the prize is increased to $55,000 as added incentive. I'm not sure whether they expect it to be over or not within that time. It's interesting they give an exact time of start, and then provide the date for a prize increase 8/9/2017----- Six Months. The start date was said to be: February 9th, 2017...AT 5:08 PM. I would think this 'time' or frame of time has something to do with the hunt's solution. You mention murder in chapter Six---- has someone been framed? I need to read!!! Thank you, astree, for letting me know about this hunt... and getting the discussion going....

Hi Jenny,
I thought I had read (or watched an interview somewhere) that indicated it was expected to be solved in fairly short order. and August was mentioned (can't find it now). I had originally heard August as a time for release of original clues, too (where did you get that date, Jenny? Good catch on the 6 months) but in the Q and A link in the first post, at about 25:00 mark, September is mentioned. I think Pete is trying to get a feel for this as it develops. Also, before the 25:00 mark, he indicates he might release another chapter for the book, which would divert the hunt to another treasure.
In the interview, and the start of the book, he also mentions red herrings and dead ends.
I've got 30+ pages of notes, the murder is one of the pieces I moved to the top but may be nothing (it is mentioned early in the book, around Chapter 2, if I recall.
Will,
The book also contains a poem, which the characters use a part of the clue set. It The Thrill of the Chase all over again

Oh, there's more, lol. For example, a word pulled from a clue phrase is "introfly". TRO is the airport code for .... TAREE, Australia.
