This clue is also short and consequently has a backup as well. Look quickly down
yields
Owl nook
Alternatively:
The answers I already now I’ve done it tired and now I’m weak
(look at the font in the book)
combined with:
…listen good
yields
Owl nest Recall that the colophon, among other things, looks like a couple of owls sitting side-by-side, and that the last image has a bird’s nest. That's all there is to this one. The first clue is Glenwood Springs.
The second clue is Route 70.
The third clue is Dead Horse Creek.
The fourth clue is Hanging Lake.
The fifth clue is East ten paces on a rocky path
The sixth clue is Turn SE
The seventh clue is Azure cloth
The eighth clue is Owl nook

The lead-off letters in the last stanza are S Y I I. A bit of reordering yields YS I I, which can we read out as "Wise eyes." This is nice in two respects. First, it calls to mind owls, and the own nook clue extends to this stanza. Secondly, owl eyes call to mind two big side-to-side Os. They nicely match up with three separate allusions to the end of the hunt: the colophon (two Omegas), the observation that the last two clues lead off with O, and finally, of course, noticing that OO is most definitely in the wOOd.
