The I goes in alone I Begin it where warm waters halt At tea, in this case the T of halt TIT Take it in the TITHE Think of a pew as a canyon, think of the people sitting in it, the basket goes down the canyon not far but it’s too far to walk, that’s why they pass the plate. Put N below the TITHEN Homer used tithenai “to put in”, Homer Simpson, Nicole Brown Simpson Gold nuggets as big as hen’s eggs
From there, it is no place for the meek There is where the I went in alone ANTITHEN Anti-opposite of, ant-puddle-ocean
The end is ever drawing nigh antiTHEN THE EN
There will be no paddle up your creek ANTIthen No paddle-opposite up Just heavy loads, think AR-15 and water high, think Ar, Argon, noble gas ANTITHENAR nar is comparitive to nigh
Look quickly down your quest to cease
Y is it, that I must go I’ve done it tired and now I’m weak ANYHENAR Hear me all and list N good AYHEAR If u’ve been y’s AU Hear Gold here...he thought of almost everything.

He said to follow the poem precisely. And you feel what you posted is precisely? ?

I feel it’s a different way to look at the poem. I didn’t include everything I used such as homophones, etc. You start with an I and build a word string using it. “the blaze....in a word, yes”

I would ask simply this....what kind of mark does a Jolly Green Giant...the plane used to rescue Fenn...leave. Marry it to a map. At some point you will see it. It took me a long time for my eyes to adjust. Spoiler alert, the marker is a question mark. IMO

Yes it was confusing but I will say it made me think and I get what you were trying to do. One can extract words using your method but because there are many words such as tithe that we don't know the definition of, it may be very difficult to know when one has found a word that is key unless you have all parts of the puzzle. If your theory is correct, I would think there would be double confirmation within the poem similar to cryptic puzzles. There would be the word or words you are decrypting, the actual definition of the word, and the hints on how to decrypt. In other words, confirmation that what you have solved is correct.

I don't know, when I follow the poem (starting with the confirmed first clue) I get begin "it" where warm water's' halt = sit and take "it" in the canyon down (but where in the canyon?) = citanyon, caitnyon, canityon, canyiton, canyoitn… not far but too far to walk = ? put in below the home of 'B'rown = B in
… I gave up on that method after that because it wasn't making any sense.
As to the original post, there doesn't seem to be a clear rule on which letters are left off, which ones are inserted or where they are inserted. (such as TITHE for the line take it in the, why is it reversed? and if it's supposed to be in, why is it at the beginning?) Just my thoughts.

I think I can help... warm waters halt at T "Take it in the" - take "it" and put in between "the" T...it..he Tithe
