The Start Date for Fandango was June 29, 2007.
The End Date is November 26, 2020.
June 29 is ordinarily the 180th day of the year. This brings to mind the 180 degree rotation the colored border makes from one picture to the next. The symbol for pi, which equals 180 degrees in trigonometry, can be seen in the middle top and bottom borders on page 30, and of course, the word "PI" is hidden inside STEP INSIDE.
November 26 is ordinarily the 330th day of the year. This is the number of paired squares in the borders on pages 19 and 47 (as long as you deal with the corners correctly; trust me). 330 is the number of letters in each of the two 5 X 66 panels containing the Riddle.
Finally, the number of days that the puzzle is scheduled to last, including the Start and End Dates as well as the four intervening leap days, is precisely 4,900, which is a perfect square (of 70). The square grid plays a key role in the solution to Fandango at two points: (1) figuring out the 4 x 4 squares on pages 11 and 40 and (2) the two 5 X 5 polybius squares.

. (today is inverse PI day, 7/22) 4,900 sqrt(4) , sqrt(900) 2, 30 to p. 30, the map page, center of book ? when i look at the two dates, and subtract (day of month), month, and year 3 , (-)4, 13 .... 12 = 3-4+13 which looks a bit like pi, and a little like a reference to MDI (M=13, D=4) (and the overlap between PI and MD I, noted) .. hmmm M...onth D ...ay (Y .. ear)

On page 47 if you fold the bottom up so that the bottom block pattern aligns with the top and the left corner stars form a yellow and red compass rose you can see a red number 7 (fourth set of blocks from the left). Flip it around ("Topsy Turvy" and/or "Upside Down" border phrases) and you can see a green 7 right next to the red one. 7 squared is 49 as you point out to match the days between the start and end dates. Interesting too that page 7 is King Neptune and it has a red border to match the red 7.

Page 19 fold, aligning the left and right side blocks to form a red/yellow compass rose with the top corner stars yields 62 (first number on license plate) and 23 - one on each side of the camera lens (that somewhat forms an eye when folded - "an eye reflects"). You can potentially see a lot of 5s and 2s, but 62 and 23 are the only ones separated by a solid orange line. If you wanted to carry forward the border phrase "an eye reflects" you could also look at the 62 as a 29 and the 23 as a 32.

NG(H) I always thought that 2:30 was the time to go to the dentist. And speaking of anagramming holidays, astree, your screen name certainly has at least one interesting feature. Kind of goes with your avatar!
