I’ve been to Rennes-le-Chateau, inside the church, and to Shugborough. Also visited Montsegur (bit of a climb but worth it). I think the two places are definitely linked, possibly to something that was sacred to the Albigensians and also to the Templars.

It's very possible that, if it is true a few members escaped from the Siege of Montsegur, they could have took 'something' to Rennes le Chateau....

There are those rumors of something being smuggled out before the end of the siege. I do think that something made it’s way to England via a Jesuit school (bizarrely enough).

What do you think that item is? Can you tell us more or what is leading you to believe this?

I too have climbed Montsegur and it was worth it ... the Albigensian (Cathar) are only indirectly linked (through Poussin) and the escapees did not go to Rennes-le-Chateau. The Treasure of R-le-C (King Dagobert’s Gold) however is linked to the Classical Monuments at Shugborough (Shepherds Monument Code), the nine stone effigies in Temple Church London, those in St Mary’s Church Aldworth (Aldworth Giants) and the Danse Macabre figures in Rosslyn Chapel.
