Hello everyone. I wanted to pass along some good news.
After several attempts to contact someone through the followthefox website, I received a very kind response from Pel yesterday. I told him that I felt I was close to a solution but would like to know if the hunt was still active before spending the time and money to travel to MDI to see if I was correct. Pel responded, "The hunt is still on."
I only began looking at Fandago this summer after a visit to MDI, but I know others here have been working on it for years. I understand there has also been some concern that the hunt may have been abandoned by its creators. To that point, it was very encouraging to hear from Pel that is not the case and that the hunt is still on. So don't give up yet! We still have just over a year to find this key!

Thanks. He didn't happen to mention when he last verified that the key is still in its hiding place, did he?

Thanks. He didn't happen to mention when he last verified that the key is still in its hiding place, did he? He did not. But I have to assume that if it was found or if someone happened to stumble upon it they would have claimed the prize. I have begun to wonder if the security of the hiding place is a clue in itself. There are only so many places/things that one could be confident in not changing or moving over the course of 13 years. For instance, I think the likelihood that it is tucked into a hole in a tree is fairly low.

Agreed. I opt for under a big rock.
