Definitely have some things coming together with this last clue, but "a writer's tool" is totally eluding me.
Well, if somebody else figures out the hiding spot first, I've really enjoyed this hunt regardless!

Well, I am looking forward to finding out how someone else solves this hunt because this last clue has rendered me clueless. I had an idea of where this might be headed and this one just threw me for a loop. I wish everyone else working on this hunt the best! Good luck!

I stared at it for a while. Granted, the connections I found might be total coincidence!

Hi all! Nothing has come clear to me yet. Are you all still trying or have you given up? I thought by now I’d be closer to a solution...

I'm still trying. I'm re-evaluating the solutions that I was sure were correct...
It'll be interesting to see if Sandra ends up giving hints if nobody finds it in a certain amount of time. She seems like the kind of person who wants it found, so I'm betting that she does.

What do you guys think?
Is 284 a confirmation of your pursuit or is "a native altar, a writer's tool" a confirmation of your pursuit?
I can read it either way...

Clue 8 says,
"...The difference is 284,
Not a number you knew before.
A confirmation of your pursuit,
Of both treasure and the truth.
A native altar, a writer’s tool,...
So just grammar-wise, I could read that as the confirmation of your pursuit is "a native altar, a writer's tool" or the 284 from the previous verse.

Still nothing? Has anyone done BOTG work since the last clue?

Yes, B(boots & bikes)OTG today before the snow, but no luck! Still stuck on a few things, but at least got to scope out one very nice place!

Took two BotG trips to the same place. I was positive the stone was here. I saw a lot of little, stubby, multi-trunked deciduous trees like this one in front of places with plenty of cracks. The only problem is, from everything I learned online about how to identify maple trees in the winter (and there are lots of videos because of the maple syrup industry), this is not a maple tree. I couldn't find any trees that were maples. So...I have to reluctantly conclude that I was not in the right place after all.

Tried again yesterday - 2 more parks. Unfortunately it seems we need so crack at least one or two more clues. Maybe Sandra would like to leave a hint??

I've got one more thing I can try, and then I'm out of ideas.
