What type of response to a question about if dropping off South Georgia matters is, Beats Me?
If Lane was able to use the Hodaddy clue to determine the next location, how can he not know if South Georgia matters???
I have researched Beats Me and tried to use some code to see if it explains anything, but I cannot come up with anything.
Any thoughts?

The treasure hunt is quite lately. I think people are at a loss for lack of direction on how these clues lead to the solve. Odd thing is the lack of communication on the BT&B facebook page.

Lane says that by dropping it off it "sounds better", but if it didn't help him solve the clue, what the heck was it for? Is the author telling us that the South Georgia part is a red herring? I don't know. I thought Fenn's treasure hunt was full of rabbit holes, it doesn't hold a candle to this story IMO. I have extremely convincing solves for a couple cities, but I can't tell what's a red herring or not. Pete's treasure hunt = tons of pages, filled with deliberate red herrings for $50k. Fenn's treasure hunt = 166 words with NO deliberate red herrings and probably 20x the amount of value. BUT... Fenn's treasure has 100k people over 6.5 years that haven't solved it, and this treasure hunt is new and much less awareness (so far) attributed to it, so I feel like I might have a better chance? I don't know which one to focus on! I have about 1200 hours into Fenn's treasure and about 200 into this one. It's becoming hard to decide which one to focus on. Anyways, enough of the rant.

Yeah the Facebook page used to be quite active. I was hoping there might be more posts by Pete. And I agree that it's pretty odd that Lane would say he didn't know why dropping South Georgia matters - unless he's trying to fool Nels and not appear too knowledgeable about the faux treasure hunt. The fact that 'sounds better' and the later 'rapping' when referencing Nada things is mentioned makes me wonder if it has something to do with pronunciation.

Plus he said he "got the clue" by saying it fast over and over, almost like rapping. So it's pretty likely the clue is phonetic. Unless that's ANOTHER red herring. It sucks there is nothing to gauge red herring's on.

I think that the phrase "streaked into my mind" sounds interesting too. Especially when you search for the word streak and the amount of times and the parts of the book that they come up.

Especially when you search for the word streak and the amount of times and the parts of the book that they come up. I find the use of Streak curious too: Here is copy/paste of definitions for that word (just for brainstorming) Definition of streak 1 : a line or mark of a different color or texture from the ground : stripe 2 a : the color of the fine powder of a mineral obtained by scratching or rubbing against a hard white surface and constituting an important distinguishing character b : inoculum implanted in a line on a solid medium c : any of numerous virus diseases of plants (such as tobacco and corn) resembling mosaic but usually producing at least some linear markings 3 a : a narrow band of light b : a lightning bolt 4 a : a slight admixture : trace had a mean streak in him b : a brief run (as of luck) c : a consecutive series was on a winning streak 5 : a narrow layer (as of fat) 6 : an act or instance of streaking
