Custard finds an object that he had to reach high in the air and over a ledge to recover. Here is how he describes that object:
"All of this work resulted in the recovery of a very uninteresting flat plastic square. It was the size of three stacked iPads with a circular fixed-bottom base and three small posts arranged in the shape of a triangle on top."
What is this object? It must be something important if he goes into such detail to describe it. Any ideas?

I believe it was an acrylic display stand for a tiara...
This is toward the end of the story- "Mrs. Huff's old jeweled tiara from the acrylic display stand"

Yes! You could be correct! I never made that connection. But why go into such detail if he is going to give it away later? Perhaps the tiara is important.

Maybe the clue here is that when we get to the final location, we may have to reach high over a ledge to recover the rock.
