Hello Jenny! I am finding "The Ring of Old" to be challenging, and quite different than your other hunts! But of course still very fun!
I would like you to clarify something, however. In the scroll, you wrote that we are to make the subject of the email the "secret ingredient". But in your previous description of this new treasure hunt, you stated that we were to give you "the Hidden Ingredient and the correct word to place in the Subject Heading of an email submitting the Ingredient. Both are vital." I am confused as to what you are looking for as a correct answer.
I would also like to ask if we can submit more than one answer.
Thanks!
Thanks!

What email do we use to submit an answer?

Thanks Genetic Blend....
Email solutions to Treasure@mysteriouswritings.com with the 'Secret Ingredient' within the Email, and the subject heading would be as stated "but first put this item (secret ingredient) through the following mix to cleverly provide your email's subject.
The mix is: 9564710382.
You'll know it when you have solved it.
There isn't a limit to submissions

Is the "Wizard's Fun", just that, fun? Or is there more to it?

Lots of things going on here. Solved a lot of what seems like "fluff"....or is it? doing a lot of fascinating research into the topic and characters, but so far nothing seems compelling or obvious matches to the narrative. Many ciphers remain elusive.....
hard to tell if this is something from history, past or current literature, fiction, or even what part of the world to look.
Hoping for a post and solve here......

Steve,
I agree.
I wish we could get some discussion going, at least about the text. That way, we wouldn't be giving away any of the ciphers. Does anyone care to participate?
Is the story from Greek mythology? Or is it referencing literature or a poem? Or is it about a true, historical event? It is hard to tell.
Should we be looking for a specific battle? I've come up with a few, but nothing seems to be a perfect fit.
The text seems to imply that there are ghosts, or "luminous sights". Or maybe that line means something else.
This is a bit more tricky than the scrolls about the presidents! They were easier to identify!

There isn't a limit to submissions Hey Jenny, I sent an email/submission about this , but just for clarification when writing this response above did you mean to say with the "name" in the email and the "secret ingredient" as the subject. In the above replay it sounds like looking for 2 different secret ingredients. The Poem says "This interesting answer the name send me" To me that is asking for a name and not a "secret ingredient" Then "But first put this item through the following mix To cleverly provide your email’s subject" To me those lines are telling you to put "secret ingredient" as the subject.

Thanks all for participating and the questions. I believe once you have the correct solution, all will become clear and there will not be any questions of this sort. However, I will clarify---it is the 'name of the secret ingredient' which you learn by solving the puzzle that needs placed inside your email-- and then once this (the secret ingredient) is solved, you will put that solution through the following mix (which I stated above is 9564710382)-and place that answer into the email's subject heading. If you do question what you have, it is probably because you have not solved correctly. There will be no doubt. I wish you the best of luck--- ~jenny

The poem narrative is perplexing. It could be mythology, Shakespearean, or modern literature. gandalf, merlin, nicolas flamel, a midsummers night dream, norse, greek, or roman mythology, or even biblical come to mind. (how's that for starting a narrative?).
