I think I got the right notes now and I have another message but I'm not sure if I am supposed to use all the letters or if I only use the 6 remaining letters after taking out 3 of them that match an item on the page? can somebody help me?

If you "decipher" the music in the intended manner, you will use all of the notes.

So not to give anything away but are you saying if you start with 9 notes after you "decipher" them and unmix them you still use the resulting 9 letters?

You won't even need to "unmix" or anagram them.

Then I guess I am doing something wrong, because after I decipher them, I get AYADEBEDD which needs to be unmixed right? My question is do I still use the EBE or remove it and take the resulting 6?

Hi - I'm pretty new to the hunt (I've been working on it for about 3 days). I've been studying these musical notes. I have a few observations... (I don't think I'm giving anything away because I'm still just batting this around in my head!)
1. Two kinds of notes are shown here - eighth notes and quarter notes (not including the "Rest") 2 If you count up from the low C (where the first note is) on up to the high G (highest note shown here) there are 12 positions. If you count up to the logical next notes, 13 or 14 positions. Hmmmm, that's conveniently around half of the alphabet...
Also convenient that there are two kinds of notes, eight notes and half notes! I don't think that's a coincidence!

If you read the music correctly you wont have any notes left over. The clue will be will spelled out with no rearranging...
