Samuel Pearson and Mary Letby were married on July 11, 1681 at the Angelical parish church, Selby Abbey. I believe that is the Abbey pictured in the illustration.
Mary was from Barmby on the Marsh. The map in the background of the illustration shows Barmby in letters that are larger than the other place names.
The illustration also shows what is perhaps a monument. Does anyone have any idea on its identification?
Also, to the left of the horse cart, there are some handwritten signatures hidden beneath the overlay of the illustration. It looks as if one of them is "George ______an________ " and there is another signature below that, "___ton _____________ly". Can anyone make these out? There must be a reason that the author chose to obscure them.

I just reread this post, then relooked at the image (using my kindle) I cannot read the information but I do see that there is something here!
This is another reason why I was wondering if we could get some scans from the original book instead of the e-book which I believe the author is being asked about!

I heard back from the author, and yes, I will be able to post the images. He is allowing it. Will try and do so tomorrow....
