Actually, forget the Derby question (had few doubts about my '4 before' but pretty clear now, I was just being a bit dim). Different question. Would mnemonics have anything to do with this?

Sorry, yet another question, just to check I'm (finally) getting the actual navigation of this correct. Would it be fair to say that first you find 3, then use them (with a couple of other clues) to get all of the 'four before'?

Again, wasn't looking at the detail carefully enough but the Plague picture was a great help!

Pete, I think you've confirmed this before, but the small differences between the PDF and book don't matter, correct? If you look at this comparison ibb.co/Mhw5tr7there are some faint lines in the sky that show in the book, but not in the PDF. I assume this is purely accidental?

Hi Ronemund, You've used a picture from my solution. Those faint thin lines in the sky are lines I've added they do not appear in the book or the PDF. They are the 8, 9 and 10 degree lines of my compass approach to the solution. The only lines visible in the book and the PDF are the 7 and 11 degree lines, which I've shown with a thicker line. Glad you're checking it out : )

Hi Pete, This week I've published my approach to the solution on this forum (see the My Solution thread). The approach appears to generate some very interesting results, but other hunters have raised the concern that having so many lines drawn across the pictures will inevitably throw up interesting results just by chance. It's a valid concern and one that I also share. So my question is...are the results I'm getting just coincidence?

Hi Pete, There has been a bit of discussion on this forum about the map in the Romans picture. Previously you have mentioned that it is "an extract from a real map". Some of us have tried but failed to find the actual map that was used. Would it be possible to point us in the direction of that real map?
