Imo the silverware could be indicating forrest could have OCD.
The silverware on the left Now look at the one on the right forrest is a neat freak look at his walls in his house.

FF, according to your hypothesis, had to count them and had extra matchsticks to do something with. I know, a poor joke, but then it would explain why he did this treasure quest too, after one thing led to another. lol |

Anther way for ff to know if someone truly has is TC. |
