So looking at the camera page, I cant help but fixate on the text in the preceding page saying "weird and red". That jumps out as a verbal clue to me. Looking at the illustration, if I had to single out one thing that is "weird and red", it would be the out of place eye on Fandangos right ear. What is it? Why is it there? And most important, what do you do with it? For a while I thought it made his ear shaped like a fish which made me think red herring, but now I doubt it. Along with the 62-18 on the wheel(which equals 44), the arrows on the wheel etc.. Its making me rethink this image. Anyone notice the picture looks like its hiding something? Look how the roof line is off. You also see it in Fandango's right eyelid.

Hi. I think that circle is actually part of the real building structure design if I remember correctly. I had wondered if it highlighted fo nsignifican e as well and had previously tried drawing lines to the border from it in various ways without success. The weird and red could refer to all the weird red eye balls in the book too.

I agree there's something weird about that image. The chink in his left eye corresponds to the edge of the yellow key, but the chink in his right eye does not. Also all the other keys have been a donut shape for the main body but this is a solid circle. And what's the weird handle at the bottom of the key? And all the other flowers are behind the key except that brown striped thing which is part behind and part not.

Interesting. Never paid attention to that plant at the bottom of the key. For what its worth, the arrows on the wheel go to an E and a T. Not sure if thats what he intended. 62-18=44. 44 is the latitude of Mt desert island. I swear so much attention paid to the #4
