Jenny,
Thank you for. drawing our attention to this. I have been thinking that the earlier articles probably have the best information, before the Chase got inflated.
Now, I am questioning even these. As you mention in your mysteriouswritings article (linked in your post), we do not know if some of the statements are the authors (mis)understanding. The Northern New Mexico claim is a huge deal! The book says “somewhere in the mountains north of Santa Fe”
The article also states ...””The book contains the clues needed to find it” while the book itself says the poem contains nine clues.

Ugh - do you really need to pull be back into NM? Lol. Thanks for the post Jenny. This is pretty interesting. I love to go back and look at the earliest blog posters too.

Yes, and it was early on that someone had come close to the treasure (at least 500 feet (the 200 foot remark came later)) .... and also 'had the first two clues' (but might not have known it).... were they the same? I'm not sure this has ever been confirmed or not...

Well, I still have two path's from my Alamo Solve - one to Thermopolis and the 109/43 theory via the Alamo Thermopolae quote and the Valle Caldera - via the Elfego Baca statue in Reserve to the Baca land grant. Is there any way to squeeze the star theory into either of those? I don't know.
