Most times when I look at various words and phrases, it's not the first thing you think of that works best, but taking it to the next level - in the case of sabre, I'd say look at how well "point" or "foil" works in your word play.

So the ballet that the song “saber dance“ is from is called “gayane.” its original name is called “happiness.”
Happiness is the pot... I think the whole saber/ saber dance thing is to draw us to happiness/ contentment.
From wiki: "Sabre Dance" (Armenian: Սուսերով պար, Suserov par; Russian: Танец с саблями, Tanets s sablyami) is a movement in the final act of Aram Khachaturian's ballet Gayane (1942), where the dancers display their skill with sabres.[2] It is Khachaturian's best known and most recognizable work.[3][4] He apparently felt that its popularity "deflected attention from his other works."[5]
Its middle section is based on an unnamed Armenian folk song.[2][6] According to Tigran Mansurian, it is a synthesis of an Armenian wedding dance tune from Gyumri tied in a saxophone counterpoint "that seems to come straight from America."[7]
Gayane (ballet) This article is about Gayane the ballet. For other uses, see Gayane. Gayane (Gayaneh or Gayne (the e is pronounced); Armenian: Գայանե); is a four-act ballet with music by Aram Khachaturian. Originally composed in or before 1939, when it was first produced (in Yerevan) as Happiness. Revised in 1941–42 to a libretto by Konstantin Derzhavin and with choreography by Nina Aleksandrovna Anisimova (Derzhavin's wife),[1] the score was revised in 1952 and in 1957, with a new plot. The stage design was by Nathan Altman (scenery) and Tatyana Bruni (costumes).[2]

Primarily what the blade looks like. I had, what I think is the biggest breakthrough for my solve last night when I changed my approach for the solve. Prior to my starting on this "quest", I didn't know much about the 4 states and their geography. During the last 4 months or so, I have become very familiar with both. I threw out all the other knowledge and focused only on geography and the poem itself (just as ff has directed ever searcher to do). My thinking of course, I now know WWWH, home of Brown, the 2 Omegas, the blaze and the title to the gold meanings and how they are all connected to each other. ff has said that once everyone hears what the correct solve is, it would be so obvious to all the searchers once they have it. That was for me last night. I started today making arrangements to take vacation from work to coincide with days my son has off from school to make the trip to the mountains together. My mother has even expressed interest in going as well. If its a bust, doesn't matter. We will have great memories of the trip together just like all the other trips we have been on through the years.

The sudden desire to name a random cat is not a hint or clue IMHO.It's a shout out to the Victor. We've got a creature whose Saber teeth are too large in proportion to the kittie. We are seeking an individual with a name or an avatar wielding a saber to large for it in proportion to itself. Brings to mind your Yoda Jenny. I've only seen one other and he's often commenting on YouTube fenn sites. And like him , your Yoda is also " very visual " per the Barry & Suzanne video. Just my opinion.

I like the shadow of the keyhole in the picture of the Sabre tooth cat. Something lurks in the shadows. Keyhole... key... the shadow knows!
At the la brea tar pits, they called it “smiledon californicus.”

At the la brea tar pits, they called it “smiledon californicus.” Hi Heidini: it actually looks like a pair of intersecting keyhole silhouettes -- just that the one on the right is more subtle. The question is what in the fossil could be producing those keyhole-shaped silhouettes? I don't see anything in the picture that could be responsible, but we may not have the right perspective to be able to identify the source. For all we know, the keyholes could have been Photoshopped in.
As much as I like that you've called out smilodon californicus (possibly implying that a California searcher has figured out the key? ;-), Smilodon was found all over the Americas: S. gracilis, S. fatalis and S. populator. S. californicus is a synonym of S. fatalis (S. floridanus and S. mercerii are also fatalis synonyms, so there goes the California advantage (wink)).

Phantom puts a different perspective on possibilities I didn't think of. Thanks much...
