A note from the creators: This is a tribute to a great man and a great treasure hunt. It is meant to take you back to that place of discovery and awe, a whimsical place where fairies exist with mythical creatures of a time long ago. A fantasy land that breaches into reality with a quest, a mission to find the casque! Although we are not providing you with the standard longitude and latitude coordinates given in the original hunt which Bryon created, the rest works in a like fashion to the original. There are some old tricks and some new things you will have to figure out. We’ve provided you with enough information to locate the treasure grounds. The rest is up to you. Only a key will get you the treasure, not a written in solution. We wish you the best of luck and we hope this Tribute brings you as much joy as hunting the original 12. John Michaels & Kit Palencar

The lady is Frigga with her goat. The leash is the outline of two buildings you see when looking at the right angle. The hanging wheel thing is on St Mary’s Basilica in Minneapolis. The ax handle is the cherry stem at spoonbridge at the Minneapolis sculpture gardens. The man of adventure (one of them) is Paul Bunyan. That’s the starting point. The man the fair folk believe brought buildings and urbanization to the world. Oh and Frigga is stepping on Paul Bunyan’s boot. The city is Minneapolis. Attachments:

www.flickr.com/photos/156936251@N07/?I believe that the location of the 13th casque is on Jekyll Island near Brunswick, Georgia. The attached images link the location to the puzzle. The Horton house ruins are the red brick background. The Adam Field Pottery is hanging from the iron rod on the left side of the painting. The base is an upside down sign for Jekyll Island. The water on top is from the relecting pool at the Villa Marianna on the island. The driftwood branches (also a nod to driftwood beach) match the waterways and rivers around Brunswick and Jekyll Island.

Twin Cities (Minneapolis & St. Paul), the person who hid the treasure is from Milwaukee (so it is relatively close stash). And the hidden Minnesota state in the drawing: I think the dog leash might also be 35W highway going through Minneapolis, as well. Why does no one do these awesome hunts in Texas, so I can go find it!!!! Big hat tip to these guys for doing a hunt, though! I'll keep helping out if I can find anything! mm (Justin)

Is there a bridge in Minneapolis with four spans? Yes, at least two.

top of wall in picture seems to match top of Alamo in San Antonio. I think the Riverwalk is the target area. your way has a twin, riverwalk walk on both sides of river. four spans are the foot bridges that cross it. Fourth is near Saltgrass, with logo similar to longhorn shape in nose of creature.

Wasn't able to work on it much today. Found a dog park and potential house that confirms things, though.

This may be a far reach, but here goes..... When I look at the figure, it seems to me that it is a collection of parts, but not a body. The parts are fine by themselves, but when put together, the anatomy is really awkward. If you look at Kit's other work, this is not the case. I'll come back to the in a moment. Is anyone familiar with anamorphosis? Wikipedia defines it as "a distorted projection or perspective requiring the viewer to occupy a specific vantage point, use special devices or both to view a recognizable image'. Read the entire article here. One of the most well-known examples is "The Ambassadors" by Holbein. The distorted shape in the foreground, when viewed at a near-180 degrees from the viewer, is a skull. Back to the figure... When I look at the painting as I would the Holbein painting, I feel like I am supposed to find the viewpoint that makes the body visually "correct" itself. When I look from the wrist and down the arm, the shape created by the arms and the axe is very noticable. When I look from the foot, the robe creates shapes that look very significant. With all of the theory on Viking references, do you think we could be looking for runes? (I should note that I am viewing the painting on my phone. A print would probably allow me to consider other options, like a cylindrical view. Unfortunately, a printout is not an option, as that would involve leaving the house and it is very cold and rainy tonight.) Anyway, just my $.02 for the evening. Maybe this means something, maybe not. Thanks! CR

I have found this orb in most of the 12. marks the casque location (my theory). in the circle with a lot of magnification, looks like one of those cartoon maps with landmarks. there is some lettering in there too, just cant quite make it out yet. also, looks like a persons reflection in the dangling thing. That orb is there for a reason. 🔍🔬
