Any thoughts on what this is? Will it just be a decorative piece found at the location site to help confirm it, or does it hold a code of some sort? While the past Secret Puzzles didn't hold codes, we know from the Prelude hunt, it is not beyond them to place some new tricks in this 13th puzzle.

What it reminds me of the most is a semi-truck hub/rim/wheel.

i initially thought "hubcap" but agree with wheel now, like on a locomotive or train rail car.

Some steam engine trains had wheels like that, but most of them, that I can find were open. I don't think that it means a train, because it's hanging in the picture (not mine, the Secret's). Maybe a pendulum?

On the Santa Fe Trail, there are markers that resemble a wagon wheel, especially the one for the Battle of Glorieta Pass.

None of these fit, though. Because of the Valkyrie's windows! Not too many Vikings in New Mexico. Not sure what the connection is yet.

Vikings might point to Minnesota. Like the sports team, or the crackpot theory that Vikings settled there at some point.

My first thought was locomotive, closest I could find was the paper wheel:

Since we're not dealing with 1980's puzzle anymore the wheel could be the bird's-eye view of a round park with 8 trees or posts in the middle and 10 on the outer diameter. Or a round fountain overhead google map view.

Near London bridge in Lake Havasu, AZ is a circular park, Wheeler Park. Here's the fountain:
