Wow. The crowd funding has only reached 1%.

I am confused about the Crowdfunding site. I went to the Kick Starter site and supported the book, "The Hidden Sun". The way the Kick Starter site works, is you choose the plan that works for you, and you enter in your payment information. You will NOT be charged unless the project reaches its goal. But for the Crowdfunding site for "The Heart of Gold", it appears that your credit card gets charged immediately. It also states that you are giving a "DONATION". So if the project does not meet its financial goal, do you get a refund? There really is no information for backers on the site. The site lists information mainly for people who want to start a project. Can anyone explain how the Crowdfunding site works if you want to back a project?

I thought I read somewhere that if the goal isn't reached, he'd refund the donations. But I can't find where I read that. I did find this FAQ at Crowdfunder: www.crowdfunder.co.uk/guides/faq/project-ownerEither "All or Nothing" or "Keep What You Raise". Looks like his is "All or Nothing" based on the note on the page: This project will only be funded if at least £30,000 is pledged by April 14th 2019 at 7:43pm It's an ambitious project. He's looking to raise double the cost of the prize in order to cover printing costs, etc. Smart if it works. All costs covered up front. Book sales will be pure profit. And if it does work, I've got plenty of ideas.

I had emailed Malcolm to confirm it was an 'all or nothing'... and it is...
Here is part of his email:
It is set up only to keep the money if the full amount is pledged.
If this is not reached then all the pledges are refunded.
If you look on the website on the right hand side under the button marked 'SUPPORT US'
It states This project will only be funded if at least £30,000 is pledged by April 14th 2019 at 7:43pm All the best
Malcolm
But this site isn't very clear about it all.....

I think if his crowdfunding site were a bit more clear, he might receive more backers.
