It is believed by most that Image 6 matches with Verse 9 leading to St. Augustine:

The main clue leading to Florida is the state shape found:

Then with the character on top of the image being attired much like a Spanish Conquistador and Ponce de Leon was one of the first known and famous for his search for the Fountain of Youth- in St. Augustine, Florida, it leads to St. Augustine. . . Support for such is that The first line of Verse 9, The First Chapter, is seen at the Fountain of Youth entrance in St. Augustine. . mysteriouswritings.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/04/the-first-chapter-e1570889424800.jpg

Palencar put the city and state name in all the puzzles. The first thing one should do is look for find them. It will help you understand how palencar did things. All a matter of structure. How did he build them. It is not a painting/picture. its a structured image. He has placed in them Landmarks, clues, exact locations, funstuff like HI FIVE written in the flowers, etc.
ST Augustine is written in image (Ponce- arm is the A, horse has T, U, S, flagpole- i, top of banner-E).
Florida is written in the flowers.
The Flowers are connected to the Montreal puzzle. not in a solve way. just structure connected all puzzles through sites, names roads, etc

page 133. someone referenced the creatures head looking up. how about the roof overhang? could it be a picket fence? obviously something shadowy hiding in it.

I've seen that kind of wooden bridges in the Houston Zoo images.

The St Augustine casque is buried next to the Great Cross which is just to the south of Fountain of Youth Park. “At the base of a tall tree” refers to the Great Cross which is 208 feet tall. It is constructed of silver stainless steel panels! Silver mentioned in riddle.
“Even in darkness” refers to the Cross being lit up at night.
The Cross is right next the marshes thus the honking from the water fowl.
Happy Hunting!!!

I have several solves but need someone like Josh Gates to get permission to dig for one of them.

Hello.. I hate to do this but I think pic #6 points to St. Louis. Look to the left of the nose below the bird and see if you don't see STLOUS. I also read where Byron confirmed in an email that someone was right about this being a location without saying which verse. If this is correct it means we need to reexamine this image and which verse goes with it.

Here is another thought that I think should be obvious... Each painting should have an indication of which verse to use.
I have used this and have different verse matches for some of the paintings.

Another thing to consider, a painting may have clues that are applicable to multiple cities, like Lincoln, Battery. The Castillo almost hidden in the banner is fairly unique to St. Aug. So is the Great Cross hidden behind the palm tree extending from the right.
You will find good people here willing to collaborate if you want to test ideas. Enjoy the journey.

If "1 Peter 2:24" was the intent for the tree in the puzzle verse "he himself bore our sins in his body on the tree", then there may be a hint in the painting as well. Tree = Cross 1 PTR 2 24 can be seen in the painting. 1 being the index finger and 24 in the thumb nail.

I never thought about it until seeing the two pics of ponce side by side, but the painting has him sitting on a pony and not a horse. Look at how his legs overhang. There is a lot of history in Spanish ponies in the US. It also reminded me of Assateague island. There is a book about the possible origins of the wild ponies there that was written in '47. Misty of Chincoteague. They made a moive in '61 based off the book as well. Just thought I'd throw that rabbit hole out there. Has the Queen Isabella Garden, a Spanish Garden in St. Augustine been explored as a possibility? I couldn't find a hit on either on Quest 4 Treasure, but the search options isn't that great. Here is the way marker: www.waymarking.com/waymarks/WMC1AE_Queen_Isabella_St_Augustine_FL This particular painting isn't one I have looked into, but the pony thing got me thinking. Also, not sure if anyone else has looked into it, but the King's Highway was built to run from Boston to Charleston and then eventually down to St. Augustine.
