Notice the white of her eyes are blue? 'eyes are window to the soul' Hey choice, I'm not sure if the white of her eyes are blue or just the iris but I find it strange that they are blue, seeing that she is supposed to represent Chinese immigrants.

ok, choice, here ya go. best view of structures. linearity, color or shading changes, perspective and orientation. not sure of perspective nor orientation. even depth of field. but a lot here. size matters, as small as possible.

Hey Sluggo, can't see anything of significance there except maybe the wavy parallel lines indicate either waves of water or raked sand. Remember that green patch used to be beach sand. If water it reminds me of the bow of Cathayer!

lets try this. here are the major blocks of detail i see based on shading differences. then i work each major block, starting with orientation. for example, the large vertical block on the left is suggesting that stone lighthouse near the yacht club, in this orientation. turn that block 90 degrees left, could suggest lettering or buildings profile. What do you see? Do you believe clues are hidden here?

I really doubt there would be any clues in slight shading differences. This painting was huge compared to the other images. When reduced to book size all details would disappear. To take the other solved puzzles as a model, one can see that the clues are hidden in plain sight. For example in Boston image the layout/map of Langone Park was in her robe where the big backward S is. Using the same logic, map of final destination should be in her robe (dragon) or anywhere else.
