i believe it was mentioned he was from Holland michigan in comments somewhere, either on youtube, facebook, or 6 questions. i lived in michigan for 13 years. it was very commonly called the mitten (not the mitten state). if you ask anyone from michigan what part they are from, they will hold up their hand with four fingers together and their thumb spread out, and point to that part their hand. The mitten of course, doesn't include the upper peninsula commonly called "da u.p."
wtmi about michigan!

Holland, MI is one of the first pieces of information stated on Lukas Stanley's homepage. www.lukasstanley.com/ - Hmmm, HOME page. I was just running with the Michigan/glove concept, 616 is the first thing that's actually made sense to me as a real solution to Key 1.1 - I've never been able to get behind "home" as a solution because piece one CALLS a place. If it were home, the riddle would read, "piece number one IS a place..." I think this is our big James Halliday/OASIS moment in the hunt. We need to understand something personal about Stanley, just like Parzival did with Halliday to capture the first key in Ready Player One, which, as Stanley has mentioned, was a massive inspiration behind the Digital Buried Treasure. Even if it's something as simple as an area code, it's at least something to run with! Still can't make it work as a URL. Great job with the Michigan idea, efanton!

Not being from the US it makes no sense to me. The first is 616 and the second is 517

Area codes are regional, they come after the country code when dialing the number from abroad. For example, in Italy, where I currently reside, Rome has an area code of 6, Florence has an area code of 55. United States phone numbers are always 10 digits. 3 digits for the area code, 7 for the phone number. Some cities are so large they require multiple area codes. New York city uses 212 (the original area code), 917, 718, 929, 646 and 332. In the state of New York, there are many different area codes. en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_New_York_area_codes as an example.

I was also looking at Michigan because it looks like a mitten.. Also the Finger Lakes region of New York. There is even a Gloveville NY.
But I disagree about Holland or that we need to know personal details about Lukas. We need to follow the clue. He mentions glove, fawning, and a mothers love.
I was thinking that the mother of a fawn is a deer. There is a Deer Lake in Michigan which sounded promising until I saw that it is in the Upper Pen. Not the glove part.

I think the mitten reference pretty much solves the first part of this stanza then. I hadn't thought about looking at state nicknames but mitten definitely fits the same way that a glove does!

First, I'm in the camp that the first key is a web url. I have already come up with several yyy.zzz parts that actually resolve to actual websites, including one nonsense site that purports to be a bakery with nonsense wording and one tab with some Norwegian in it. Did the nonsense wording start with Lorem ipsum by any chance?

Michigan is split in 2 1 part 517 other 616, there's too many people for just 1 Michigan has 12 different area codes. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_Michigan_area_codesI really love the idea of Dearborn (area code 313) because it fits so well thematically with the riddle. On Lukas Stanley's website, it says he's located in Holland, MI (area code 616) and his personal phone number listed (please do not call him for privacy's sake!!!) has an area code of 989. Has anyone had any luck with 313, 616 or any of Michigan's twelve area codes?
