To find the second key You need assistance from a man Whose fortune came as a surprise While clearing wood upon the landIf anyone else would share what their initial thoughts are here then I'd be interested to know what people have come across... I found this article linking to a person who found treasure when clearing out his shop's driveway which led him to making a bit of a small fortune... www.seattletimes.com/seattle-news/rare-surprise-for-yakima-man-a-forest-of-stone/One of the comments on the Youtube video suggests it could be something to do with John Keat(s). Forrest Fenn is always a fall back option as well, especially as the riddle maker has a good knowledge of his treasure based on the six questions, but not sure how he would fit.

Paul Bunyan comes to my mind here--- The author is from Michigan which is one of the 'claimed' birth places of Bunyan .....
I wonder if we need an image of one of his statues--- and maybe use a plague somehow....
OR maybe we need to 'Ax' something out.... cut something out...

Of course, completely missed the obvious one! I guess it slipped me over the Atlantic, but I've heard the tale before and seen adaptations and yes, Bunyan makes so much sense. A lot more than one or two random articles from the Seattle Times about a store owner. I think you might be on to something Jenny

82 is the number for lead on the periodic table. 82 may be the solution, but I am not as sure about this part.

Me either, but it may flow into the next verse where gold is 79 giving 4 digits 8279.

Can you explain how you got Paul Bunyan? I'm not following. I understand that he's a figure who clears wood from the land, being a lumberjack, but how did he get a surprise fortune by doing that?

Paul Bunyan could be a rabbit hole we kind of went down as a group, even though it feels like it fits.
The exception is the "surprise fortune" which I can't make sense of either.

I keep Googling to try to find someone who chopped a tree and found gold. Or struck oil. I keep thinking of Jed Clampett but he wasn't clearing the land at the time.

its pointless wasting time and effort trying to crack this stanza if the first key is a website address as I think.
Until you see the website this stanza can not be solved.
We were told we needed two keys to solve this hunt. I believe the first key is a web address and the second we solve using information supplied on the website.

I think this is Ali Baba. I really didn't know the story but I googled Famous Lumberjacks. Turns out he was clearing wood when he overheard the 40 thieves talking about their secret cave full of gold, which he then plundered. I also found a reference to one of Aesop's Fables in which a woodcutter drops his axe in a river and the god Mercury tries to return it. Mercury asks him if a gold one is his (he says no), then a silver (he says no), then the one he lost (he says yes). Mercury is so impressed with his honesty that he gives him all three.
