This is one of the closest casques to my home. After reading the exchange between Wilhouse and Preiss in Jenny's interview, I don't have enough faith in recovering it to put work into it.

I was at the Houston Zoo in Hermann Park yesterday. The day started off rainy but stopped later in the morning. It was a gorgeous day and there was no crowd. I did find a couple of interesting things. For those who are proponents of the Children’s Zoo location for the casque I think I may have located the casque for you. In the picture below I am pretty certain the gorilla on the right is curled up around the casque. If you sneak into the zoo at night and climb over the rail into the gorilla area I am sure you will have no problem getting it from him. 🤣 Also, the second picture is of the current lion fountain in the present location of the Children’s Zoo that is no where near where it was when Preiss visited. I, for one, strongly disagree with the Children’s Zoo as being the location. Attachments:

I believe the whole zoo area has been bulldozed and redone and the animal zones have been rearranged and moved around. If you can locate 80's zoo map and compare with today's layout might help.

Uh, slightly. lol Bulldozed is hardly the term for it as it was dug down close to 20 feet in some locations. The entire area of the 1980 Children's Zoo is completely gone. You will find nothing there.
