I believe the first line simply verifies Daniel Boones statue in 2 ways.
The first 2 words, SOME ClUES start with letters S & C....these letters are on the bottom of Daniel Boone with Enid Yandell's signature, meaning sculptor. Also the words HAVE Been are in the first two lines. I see these as meaning HAVE BOONE. In other words, EYs plaque and DBs statue have been found while others are still being overlooked....either near Boone or other areas of the park.

This may work if you believe "Cross four spans" means X is at the intersection of 4 monuments/way points. Then if you believe "Cross four spans" refers to some sort of acrostic or word puzzle then here's a simple way of looking at it: There are 16 Cap. letters in the poem, 4 squared. "four spans" you can arrange these 16 letters in 4 rows in a square. You could do this sequentially, clockwise or counter clockwise spiral pattern, then where do you start? Top left? Or ... Then "Cross four spans", draw a cross corner to corner and these would be your 8 letters to play with.

I think it's interesting how the Prelude led us to understand that there were acrostics in the Verse. The capital letters create 2 acrostics with the letter A left over. The A has to mean something as well.
The other 3 capital letters in the body are B,C,C which you will find on the back of Daniel Boone's statue.

Here are a few way points and their location on the map: Top left is the statue of George Clark about 8000 ft west of Heigold Facade. About 8000 ft east of Heigold is the water tower (circle with 10 dots, statues). To the south of Clark statue is the Louisville Treasury (treasure keep). Next to it is a building with circle 2. To the south of water tower is Kentucky school for the blind. Top of the cupola sitting at the front entrance looks like one casque (helmet) with eight columns (circle with 8 dots). Across the street from the cupola is the 3rd Lutheran Church with 7 long windows in the front. tinyurl.com/y4fqus8aThird Lutheran Church tinyurl.com/y4395rmjKY School for Blind tinyurl.com/yy76j8skTreasury Dept. tinyurl.com/y56wf3n5circle 2

JM's clue about referring to a book may be as simple as referring to the book "The Secret". It would be logical since this is a tribute. Page 15 of the book looks interesting and may be relevant to the line "One Casque Two circles three, dragon of the C"
