I'm starting my own thread of this because it really doesn't apply to any one stanza.
So...I think it's possible there's some kind of cipher in the riddle.
In his explanation of mini hunt #1, he said that he didn't put any kind of hint as to what cipher was used. But maybe that was an indication that he did in this one.
This sentence always seemed weird to me: "for everyone is equal and the competition fair."
Maybe he's using a Playfair cipher. That would correspond with "play it carefully."
I tried using a 6 x 6 grid (which includes numbers) and then translating C4 F5 C6 E6 with the keyword "carefully" but all I got was LC A8 R4 R7. Not very helpful.
What does everyone think?

When doing a playfair cipher wich way does your grid run?numbers horizontal or vertical? Forgive my ignorance of the subject but i think we might be able to make a binary number out that.wich would go with some of my other thinkg. Also i can see a binary number posible with the bowling stanza.

Ok just using a standard grid a going down and 1 going across i come up with a binary number of 8 or 1000 . I thinks that right anyway definitely not a expert on binary .and if i run the grid the way will i get the same number?

If you grid it the other way you get 19 or 10011

If you run it the other way you get 19 or 10011 . Also when writing it out i realized if this is the end of the sequence and you TURN your binary number upside down you produce new digits. Now i believe" play it carefully" in here is giving a definite clue how to set up your grid.there is still a couple of other ways to set the grid up that would produce a differnt binary number.someone with a little better knowledge on codes and ciphers may recognize somthing familar here.

Ok in the bowling verse if we take it as( xxx =thirty =Turkey) it could be 101010 or the acual way you would write out thirty i believe is 11110.

I think thats a common link with everything. Correct grid style = binary number, turkey reference = binary number ,3rd stanza = binary number . Then convert 3rd 4th 5th stanza TURN (upside down will produce a couple more digits) 5th 4th 3rd. I expect this is gonna produce a 10 digit number. Do you see the common theme? 10 stanzas ,10 pins, 10 cuts 1000 dollar treasure made of ones and zeros . I mean this thing is literally screaming BINARY. I dont know i didnt see it b4 now . Im sure that it.

So im gonna jump back over to more thoughts and elaborate futher there as feel i may have kinda strayed from what you were trying to get going here .im such a newbie when it comes to different ciphers and codes had to lookup playfair cipher. Im definitely seeing the grid formation and i feel stongly that its gonna covert to a binary number. The only trick to it is theres at least 8 ways to do a basic grid .so i look back to hint and i see maybe( A a cross ) a tricky one. = (a t )ricky one . Then :so play it carefully is literally a warning because if grid isnt right youll get a totally different value.

Somthing else you point out here does makes me think .the line about equal and fair.if each key produces a binary number perhaps were gonna have to add them together. This verse has always struck me as a bit unnecessary but perhaps not.i stongly suspect BOTH keys may be a binary sequence.

Lukas has already said that binary is not involved:
