The video you have seen is a trailer for the release of the hunt. The release date ended up happening earlier and the video never had any views. This far into The hunt however it has been rediscovered. There is some useful info in there though. Thank you all for the dedication to the tone In the tree. I am loving watching it unfold and can’t wait to supply more hunts in the future!

It didn’t help this forum was started with “hidden somewhere in the US” either. My first instinct was it’ll be in MDI again since his last hunt was there, but that “ in the US” comment got me looking everywhere but there. I think Jenny secretly had the video and intentionally set us out on a Wild goose chase “somewhere in the US” to keep the MDI area and it’s island to herself! Jk

Jk That would be incorrect, as Jenny launched the hunt exactly according to our instructions, including how it was to be verbally presented. "The wild goose chase" is on us, the creators, as its kind of our job. And as already stated above, the trailer was released to to the best of my knowledge BEFORE this thread was released. All that aside, we are really enjoying everyone working together on this and being able to see all of your ideas. To date, this thread has had over 3,500 views in two weeks. That alone is a testament that Nick and myself are running things right by keeping you all informed. Keep at it!! We are rooting for you all!!

In any case, I’m glad the video was posted to this thread because I know I missed it somehow. So thanks for posting it here too!

Does anyone think that the upper right zig zag could reference a rail fence cipher? I'm still having a devil of a time with the extra purple letters, having run them through key cipher decryption, with shifts, and also using the letters from the first decryption too. Oddly enough, I came up with STATEIA at one point, but we know it's not in Iowa (unfortunately). I may be getting too anatomically technical with key though.....

Not sure if its been said but if you turn the clue poster so that "Of the tone in the tree" is on top... the entire left side of the poster is an exact map of MT. Desert Island in Maine, as well as the Cranberry Islands. The water cutouts (dark grey and white) are exact, the land shapes are exact.

I can’t seem to find what the shapes are right above MDI though. The shapes that look like an L V and a small I and big I. I’ve been scouring maps trying to find a v shaped lake or rock or island but can’t find nada. The curved line at top left of the image that leads to the skull and crossbones I can’t place either. Seems like it would be a road or an outline of a coast but can’t find it on the cranberry islands at least. I was hoping the road that leads down to dead mans point on big cran island was going to match but it doesn’t. If the skull and crossbones doesn’t indicate dead mans point...maybe it represents a cemetery?

I was thinking Dead Mans Point as well. I have also been looking for roads or places with the initials "DNA"

I wouldn't rule out one of the churches. The tree on the left looks to me as if it has a cross at the top, and obviously the tree on the right has the key in it. If the color blocks are referencing stained glass, then somewhere near a church might make sense for one of the items.

It looks like it might have a V next to it also.

Just got the blue letters! Has the reflection code been solved?
Side note: Maine is too far for me to do BOTG too, bummer (and I’d say the clues are pointing in that direction) just enjoying following along and solving clues.

As far as I know the reflections have not been decoded yet. If they have been, they’re holding it close to the chest for now. I’ve gone thru all the brute force breakers on dcode that didn’t require a key and got nothing. So it must need a key, or to be rearranged first or something like that. I’ve tried dna, gene, genes, iron, oxygen, Fe, O2 etc etc but haven’t had any luck yet. Or maybe they are double encrypted and needs to be ran twice thru? Like how Lukas’ digital buried treasure mini hunt #1 was solved.

I tried to post images, but clearly it is not a skill I possess..lmao. If you look at Dead Man's point on Google Earth, you can see the beach area has an undeniable resemblance to the "hook" on the vane on our map (Follow your veins). The tail feathers are more of a stretch, but they can be made to correspond to the other side of Great Cranberry Isle. Does the red dot in the vane represent a location? It appears to be a fairly residential island but could be worth checking out. I'll never make it to Maine, especially in late November, so just thought i would drop a bone to someone who can.

QUESTIONS ABOUT TONE IN THE TREE
It was mentioned to me that There is a black dot on the right side of the image, located in the rightmost “brown section” this dot was unintentional and serves no purpose!
As for any other questions, I am happy to hear that everyone is having a great time and love the feedback and questions I have received but I will not be commenting on them at this time. I will address the errors however so time is not wasted overthinking a detail that is not relevant!
Thank you all!
Good luck!
