the fox leaves Jordan Pond and the fairies I have doubts that the fairies are at Jordan Pond. But to your point on the ISBN, it may not matter to the solution in any case. If using the ISBN as a GPS coordinate it really doesn't matter if the last number is a 6 or an 8. Also remember, however, that Pel painted these in large format and then shrunk them down to 8x11" size for the book. I'm sure when he painted it the 6 or 8 was quite clear to him even if it is not to us.

The unmarked POI is on the Eastern shore of Northeast Harbor, and the Park headquarters is the site on Eagle Lake Rd, not in Hulls Cove, though I'm intrigued by the idea that the Hulls Cove visitor center could be Harley's cabin! Im thinking Harley Quinn, HQ, can also stand for Head Quarters, esp with Harley referring to what goes on inside the head. Thats really interesting. I think the authors put many dozens of pieces of information in the puzzle that are not necessary to solve it but to reference local information

Potentially relevant... 029828 is the hex code for green, pretty much the same shade as the green book on the shelf above it with the key on the spine.

The thing about ISBN 10 digit numbers....is the last number isnt open to variance. Its a specific calculation based on the first nine- a "check digit" It this case...given the first 9, the last would HAVE to be as I said. Resulting in "Against All Odds" as the book in question. It seems HIGHLY IMPOSSIBLE to me (and my solve) that the author would have created a random 10 digit number that "happened" to check out.if you aren't familiar with ISBN 10's and check digits- heres how the last digit is calculated to ensure accuracy.
I am NOT implying the reader would be supposed to understand check digits AT ALL... just that it how it DOES WORK kind of closes the door on which number would/could be correct regardless of means of interpretation, and may be helpful to those using such numbers in their solution.
****
Check digit calculation The check digit is calculated by taking the nine digits comprised of the group identifier, publisher identifier and the title identifier. The first, leftmost, digit of the nine is multiplied by ten, then working from left to right, each successive digit is multiplied by one less than the one before. So the second digit is multiplied by nine, the third by eight, and so on to the ninth which is multiplied by two. Each of the nine products calculated is added together. The resulting number has the number 11 taken from it as many times as may be wholly done. The check digit is eleven minus the remainder from this casting out of elevens. An example will show this. The calculation is performed on the first example book, where the first three identifiers gives the digits 019852663.
Calculating a Check Digit ISBN without check digit 0 1 9 8 5 2 6 6 3 Weight 10 9 8 7 6 5 4 3 2 Product 0 + 9 + 72 + 56 + 30 + 10 + 24 + 18 + 6 = 225
225 divided by 11 = 20 remainder 5. The check digit is modulus-remainder=check digit
11 - 5 = 6 The possible values for a check digit calculated by this procedure, called modulus 11, is from zero to ten. In order to show a check digit of ten as one character, the convention is adopted of using the letter "X" to stand for a ten, like a Roman ten. That is why you may sometimes see a 10-digit ISBN that ends in an "X" rather than a numeric digit.

It also seems interesting to me, for those that think it doesn't matter, that the author would add an entirely accurate ISBN to the wrong title. If he just painted random numbers...the chances of having an accurate first 9 AND check digit would be as crazy as winning the lottery. I dunno. Ironically, and 'against all odds', it became a big part of my master riddle so I figured I'd share
