I never put much thought into why he’s following him. I always tried to understand why the eagle is hovering over SEAL HARBOR on p11. Almost like it’s a hint to where Fandnago was dropped

I had thought, at one point after diving into the text a little more, that the eagle was going to be important in the solve because he might have known/seen where Fandango had dropped the key. My original interpretation was that the POI in the back on the map could be connected to form the constellation Aquila. With all the triangle references, I was sure the solve would have something to do with the Summer Triangle in astronomy - which houses the fox constellation in the middle of the triangle. This turned out to be wrong (Pel verified as wrong) but that doesn’t mean the eagle couldn’t be related to solve some other way. It does have the bird’s eye view of Fandango’s actions and the eagle is “following the fox”...

Ripple the Otter also raises questions in my mind. He seems unimportant, on one level, because he doesn't have a color illustration. But why include him unless he provides useful information on some level?

perhaps Ripple the Otter is there just for the double letters? I thought it was perhaps helpful in terms of the starting point being around otter cliffs. As there seem to be other indications That the beginning point is in the South East. I thought The name might also be a rip on pel, the oughta, As a sort of inside joke between the brothers
