Hi Guys, I'd like to offer you my solution to Image7/Verse2. I think everyone agrees that New Orleans is the correct city. I'm sure some of you may have looked at New Orleans City Park as the possible location of the buried casque. I also believe that to be true. However it is in a small part of the park. Beginning with the Key image of the vase/hand/mirror, we have to figure out what that represents so we know where to begin our search. I googled features of the park and when the Little Bo Peep/Humpty-Dumpty image from Storyland came up I knew it was the correct match. See attached images. If you look the thumb nail on the hand you'll see that it is cloven like a sheep's hoof. Okay we are off to Storyland. The first clue was a little tough, looking around for jewels until my girlfriend saw the xylzphone and commented that all the pipes were jewel tones. I counted them and yes there are 15 all the way to the ground, which is the ground note or lowest note in the range. In the next clue Priess decided to use a riddle, In the middle of 21 from end to end, Well obviously that is 11. I'll leave you to think about that for now. More to come later.

Okay, so we are looking for something to do with the number 11, I have not been to Storyland but from a couple photographs, i'm pretty sure there are 11 tables in the children's party area. That also works right into the next clue, Only three stand watch, as the sounds of friends, fills the afternoon hours. See attached images. Here are a sovereign peolple, who build palaces to shelter, their heads for a night. I believe the monarch of these sovereign people is Mother Goose. I think the next part is either reffering to a mother goose house(I believe there used to a mother goose house at Storyland, she being their head) or the fact that the three little pigs built houses that only lasted for one night, thanks to the wolf.

Okay guys let's wrap this one up. Gnomes admire, fays delight, I'm sure here Priess is describing the area around where the final stop will be. The final stop is the brick house built by the third of the 3 little pigs. The namesakes of the three pigs from the party tables are meeting near the brick home site. Priess doesn't tell you exactly where the treasure is but I think he is hinting at it. He uses the word site, which often refers to a home site. I think the casque is at the corner of the brick home nearest to the pigs. Palencar created a disturbance in the pattern in the image at the corner of the brick home. Oh, and the top of the clock is the brick home.

I agree with you and have always believed the casque to be buried in Storyland. You are the first person in quite a while that I have seen post about this location.

Thanks for the support algrisham7, Once I figured out what the key image represented, it was pretty obvious to me as well that it was in Storyland. The hardest part in this puzzle was he doesn't tell you exactly where the casque is buried, he only gives you the site. I still think my original guess is correct but we may never know.

I have discovered the location of the New Orleans casque. Just waiting to hear back from some officials in order to apply for a permit to prod and then a permit to dig once prodding has sufficiently demonstrated proof of concept. I wouldn’t dare try to dig where it is buried without the permission of the council. Byron made this one very difficult to legally retrieve. Perhaps in 1982 it wasn’t as great of a risk to dig where he hid it...or maybe it was. Regardless, I know with 100 percent certainty where it is located.

I think I know where it is, too. But, in my suspected area it wouldn't be that risky to dig or be hard to retrieve, so...I'm thinking one of us is wrong. I hope you find out soon. Good luck

Good luck 3libras! I hope you get permission to dig. I think that is the hardest part.

Hi Guys, It's been awhile but I have been thinking about the New Orleans casque and realized the first place I identified inside Story Land is most likely the casque location. I believe the "At the place where jewels abound, Fifteen rows down to the ground" is indeed the xylophone. I also think that Preiss is describing everything in view from that spot (site). At the end he says "The namesakes meeting, Near this site", I believe he means the site where he is standing which is at the xylophone.

I like the xylophone theory.

It’s a good theory, like the City Park/Storyland area too. The biggest issue with Storyland is that it was completely redone, so highly unlikely things are where they were 40 years ago. It would be good to have a site plan from 40 years ago to compare to the current layout.

I like the xylophone theory. Thanks goldhunter! I just wish I knew for certain it was there back in the early 80's.

I find it ironic that in an attempt to limit white noise he filled the forum world with it, but good intentions, and informative.
