Yeah, thanks. I've been pushing my weathervane theory here for years! Hey, I'm not knocking the idea, if you were following a different line of logic. If you end up at Hotel Monteleone, then I can't see going in that direction or any other direction because there is a solution right in front of you.

Hmmm, not many people agree with my ideas, maybe I need an alter ego!

If you end up at Hotel Monteleone, then I can't see going in that direction or any other direction because there is a solution right in front of you. That comment was meant for Byrnie and his weathervane image he posted. Coincidentally the tunnel hallway in the Du Monde Cafe is in the middle of 21 arches. There are 10 turquoise colored arched doors/windows (except 1) to the south-west and 11 to the north-east side of the building. If you consider the building as a grandfather box clock or a stand-watch (tongue-in-cheek) and the middle cupola with weathervane as the center of the clock face then the position of the second hand (14 seconds) circle would be the spot. This puts the target by the pool in front of the lamp post that it's base looks like a bishop chess piece.

Or use Jackson Square as directional clock (seconds hand at 14).

Hey Guys, I have a thought on the number 19 in the top left corner of the clock face. I noticed how the 1 & 9 in the number 19 are out of line vertically. JJP is to good for that to be an accident. I also remembered how in the Chicago image they gave the city's coordinates out to two decimal places. Then I thought maybe the 1 & 9 are to be used independently. The coordinates of New Orleans are 29.9511^N,90.0715^W. If we add the 1 & 9 to the 29 & 90 given on the clock face we get 29.9 & 90.1, which is spot on for the city.

I really doubt he would go to decimal points for coordinates. However zip code has been done before. You can clearly see a 7 at the bottom of your image above below 9. You can also see that 9 is slightly rotated clockwise. So continue rotating 9 to 6 and add the resulting 16 to 701 below and you get 70116, zip code for the Jackson Square area. There's been mentioned that stockings spell out "DIG JAX". However I believe it reads "DIG IN" as in "eat" in a restaurant or cafe. Another fun fact: Location that one may associate with French and voodoo is Haiti which is at latitude 19. Longitude would be -72/-73 that may be covered by the mask.

Casques aren't a laddah, they're a conundrum, many who try to comprehend them fail, their imperfect pattern matching misleads them, the jarring results try them, the empty pit breaks them. And when some are given a chance to dig one, they refuse, they cling to their inanity, or their poor research and reasoning, or their fear of federal law... distractions, diversions, only the casques are real, the puzzle is all there is. - Hand of the Sing

The fact is there has been a precedent set in a solved puzzle. Comparing a bunch of opinions from an unsolved puzzle does not dismiss the fact. Coordinates with two digits beyond the decimal point is proven as much or more than the idea that a zip code has been used. Why mess up the 02113 zip code when you got 42/71 on her sleeves. These coordinates normally show up on the opposite sides of things i.e. robe (image 1) or windmill blades or here opposite arms.

You had to read it counterclockwise like you run bases. That doesn't mean the zip code isn't there as well.

I have a new idea about a possible casque location in Storyland. It does depend on whether or not this map is from the time the casque was buried. "The Old Lady Who lived In The Shoe" was the 21st exhibit listed on the map for Storyland. The middle, from end to end of the shoe, falls in a space between the shoe and the walkway where the casque could have been buried. The shoe is the very close to the entrance into Storyland and Preiss could have hidden behind it as he buried the casque.

That’s not a bad idea....15 rows down to the ground. I count 15 rows of shingles on the roof! Also it’s got an arch shape and the jewel should be buried near or be associated with an arch shape going off the image.

I found another photo that looks like the shoe may have once been the entrance to Storyland and was not behind the fence, but the fence ran up to it. Preiss could have just climbed over the toe of the shoe to get inside. Also right in front of the shoe is the Three Little Pigs (only three stand watch). Mother Goose is above their heads (a sovereign people). The pigs three houses (palaces is plural). To shelter their heads for a night (The wolf destroys them). The two narcissus flowers are clearly visible from the shoe.

As far as the shoe being the entrance, I don't think that makes since for this solve. It would not likely be number 21 on the exhibit list if it's the entrance. also it doesn't have the colors or the same shingles at that time. This must be a fairly old picture.
