"So I wrote a poem containing nine clues that if followed precisely, will lead..."
So few potential solutions put forward have been precise I wonder if most searches missed that word? How might a solution be precise? Some examples off the top of my head: coordinates, vector algebra, intersection, interpolation. Any others?

He likes precise definitions of words from time to time.

Excellent question pacman.
So I wrote a poem containing nine clues that if followed exactly how I meant for them to be interpreted, will lead to...
Precise also means literal. Is he telling us exactly how we should be interpreting his poem? This one could be a game changer for me...simplify.
So I wrote a poem containing nine clues that if followed literally, will lead to...

He has indicated in TTOFTC that he can be a very literal person. "My eyes were open, it was my eyelids that were closed"

I feel if you determine the correct wwwh, follow the clues 'up your creek', and find a Blaze... they will lead you precisely to the treasure chest's location.

if there was a precise method to locate the chest forrest wouldn't have answered - you probably won't- to the question how do I know I have the right spot before I go there. or something like that. it's botg attack.

Is there a difference between followed precisely and precisely followed?

That's a good question. Like present tense and past tents

All, Is there a difference between followed precisely and precisely followed? Seannm It's interesting in the recent video by Cynthia, Forrest comments on those who had been within 200 feet........... The interviewer asked:
Why didn’t they find it? Did they give up?
Forrest answered:
They didn’t give up….they left the poem….Sounds like they didn't follow the poem precisely or precisely follow.

All, Is there a difference between followed precisely and precisely followed? Seannm All, If we are to follow something precisely then should it not be precise in its instructions? Must it not be vague or filled with subterfuge if it is expected to lead us precisely? Should it not be straightforward? How does one construct something cryptic yet be so precise in its instructions so that one can precisely follow it? Seannm

. sean,
“Poem purists are well versed” or “Poem purists get deep sixed... and dont”
I think Forest may have been seeing something different in the quote then most people think. Hes very good, and tricky.
I’m still looking at that word precisely but for sure I believe one of the meanings is that the poem will tell you exactly where to go but you have to use it In a very precise way. Not using metaphors that are open to big interpretations or anything like that

IF... why if? Doesn't seem to suggest it can be found anytime...if there is an if.... So is what Forrest possibly saying by saying IF.... that it can only be found in any weather if you know where the Blaze pinpoints the chest location....suggesting that if you don't know where the Blaze is before you go, and it is covered by snow, you won't know precisely. So it can't be found in the snow because the Blaze can't be found?

This is a conditional clause, but the key word in it is " probably" in my opinion. If one was to remove that word it could have an entirely different meaning and be more definitive. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Conditional_sentence*If you know precisely where it is you can retrieve it in any weather You can, versus, you probably can. I interpret the condition to be: If you know precisely where it is. And the consequence is: you can probably retrieve it in any weather. And I personally don't believe that one can know precisely where it is, as even Forrest has said that you cannot have a correct solve unless you can knowingly go to within several steps of the treasure chest, but several steps can be more than two but not many. So precisely how many steps are several, and precisely how far is a step? You see where I'm going with this? This is a unreal condition, because one cannot know precisely, within a 10 inch by 10 inch spot, where the treasure rests prior to recovery (no matter who says what Forrest said), that is unless they find the treasure, leave it there, go home, and then return to recover it on a later day regardless of the weather. This reminds me of another quote from Forrest: "If you think I could not have put it there, you are probably right" Seannm
