That's great! I just got to looking at it this weekend. I figured out the prime numbers and the letters around the coin. The little colored pills were easy (I'm a fan of TokyoFlash watches) and it seems the little fix that was made was completely inconsequential unless you were right there at the end! Great job, Trey! And thanks for a great hunt, AoHM! I hope to get started a little earlier next time!

I have posted the solution to the Pirate Treasure Hunt on the Art of Hidden Messages facebook site. I have a pdf of the solution with illustrations, but I wasn't able to post the illustrations on the facebook site...only the text came through. I sent the pdf to Jenny, so maybe she will be able to get the more detailed version of the solution with the illustrations posted here. If anyone has any questions, feel free to ask.
I tried to make this one more difficult than my other hunts, but not so difficult that it would not be solved. I hope I reached a good balance this time. I hate to have a hunt go on for months and months. I think people lose interest.
As always, I am open to feedback...both good and bad. I would like to make more hunts, and I want to improve the quality. So your input is appreciated.
I am working on two new hunts. One is armchair only and will have four prizes. When I asked for suggestions after the last hunt, people liked getting more prizes from one hunt, so I will be be making the hunt so that there are three puzzles, and one meta puzzle, each with prizes. This one is in the form of a story with three short chapters and illustrations. It is different than what I have done before. The other hunt will be very similar to "The Secret" with an illustration and a poem. It will be boots on the ground with a proxy item that the searcher has to retrieve. Both are almost complete. I think I will charge a small fee for one, and the other will be free.
Thank you to those who participated! I might put the original Pirate Treasure Hunt art up for bidding on ebay if there is any interest. I have to check to see what shipping will cost. It is a large piece.
I received my treasure chest yesterday in the mail and I have to say, I am impressed! Not only with the hunt itself which was challenging for me but also because of the work that was put into it. I would have gladly paid $4 for the hunt. All in all, I can say it was worth the time and was a great challenge. I hope to participate more in the future (my first post...sort of a lurker) as time allows. This seems like a really cool community and "the" place to go for challenges and hunts.
