Doug is a gifted writer, and it may be embellished a bit, but I think it's a true account of Forrest's plan at one time. I've always thought that parking his car and dying with the chest was a bit whimsical. Some people think it's an extra clue (more like hint, the way Forrest typically defines clues/hints), since Forrest never changed his spot. No one knows exactly where he'd park, though, which seems to be key. Forrest has referred to the Denver museum in scrapbooks. Fwiw, there is an older tale of parking at Northern Arizona University. Forrest recently denied that is a hint I believe. And the Northern Arizona University nickname...the lumberjacks. Division....bigsky. Ditat Deus. That is their motto. Latin for “God enriches.”

I hear you saying something about “big sky?”

is this for real? it's a bit before my time in the chase. what's the majority think on this. a joke? Evidently, it is for real. However, I don't feel anyone can say they know for sure what the meaning of the clue is- until the chest is in hand. And even then, I'm not so sure. lol. I think it is anyone's guess at the moment. I first went to the museum back in the mid 70’s and had not been back since. I thought Forrest’s comment was odd until fate would have it that I would drive there in a friend’s beat-up old Chevy pickup. I ate lunch siting on the flatbed, fewer people and I got to look at the mountains while I ate. Spending an afternoon there I can see how this hint applies to one of the clues. Anyway, I think it is a brilliant clue and one that tells Forest where you are in the search.
If I am correct of course.
