Cipher?

Hmmm, anytime I click on Photos or Videos in the James Marshall profiles, it asks for login credentials. Are you saying I'll be able to get the cipher text directly from the public page and not any photos or videos?

I've looked all over face book and even my space with out success. I searched James Marshall, Sutter's Mill, Jame Marshall Monument, etc. What on earth am I missing?

James Marshall, James W Marshall, James Wilson Marshall, James Marshall Coloma, James Marshall California, James Marshall Blacksmith, James Marshall Facebook, James Marshall DBT, James Marshall Digital Buried Treasure, and many more that I don't remember.
However, I can't say I looked at every James Marshall that did not show a profile picture. I looked at many without a profile pic but each time I hit the back button to check the next profile I had to load all pics again and scroll back to the next and I just got tired of it. Maybe I don't deserve it.

The James W Marshall profile that was linked here (FB) some time ago only has two pictures. One is the stock photo of the gold digger and the other is a picture of gold... no cipher in sight.. But the timing of this profile matches this hunt so it must be it... Add me to the list of dense ones...

ok, because we all know how precious our time is:
it's not the posted facebook profile.
Personally I spent hours trying to decrypt the cipher. After a certain amount of time it's not worth it. Either you get the spark or not. You all are very smart, otherwise you wouldn't be here!

@jfletcher, I'd like to help you with the cipher. What do you mean it's not the posted facebook profile. Could you elaborate on how the cipher is found. Are we to check the long list of James Marshall profiles for random text?

Hope this helps and you or anybody else will tweet a hint about solving the cipher.

Update: I'm working on the cipher text now. I didn't find it on facebook, myspace, twitter, or reddit. I think this was one of the more perplexing expectations. One the page is a phone number, a picture of james marshall, a picture of the cipher text with the DBT icon. To those that found it quickly, bravo!

Thank you both for your help with that. I was scouring Facebook pages and could not login when clicking on pictures.
You win some and you lose some. This is one of those hunts that is not coming easy to me and I am fascinated by everyone here who has found things so quickly. I'll keep plugging away but not expecting much. Still fun though.

I've been thinking a lot about how we're meant to find this book, and I think I'm just running into a lot of dead ends? The first phone call tells us that it's hard to find online, which seems to suggest that we'll need a physical copy of the book in order to progress? But that seems to go against the spirit of the hunt, given that it's meant to be for anyone in the world. This leads me to think that it's a book that we can find in its entirety online, but I really think I've exhausted all of the possibilities given the clues we have. Anyone in Oregon have any details I might be missing?

Anyone in Oregon have any details I might be missing? Not true. I found the entire text of the book online. I also have a hard copy, Its a very popular book. but being I had set up a spreadsheet that would aid enormously in the decryption I cut from the online version and and pasted that into my spread sheet. That process went on and on and on, Finding the book is not hard. Working out where to start is the difficult part. You should have a good idea of what you are looking for. Took me about 10 minutes of Googling to find what I wanted.

First of all, I haven't solved the cipher and I don't know what book is needed. Secondly, if you're looking for the HP Philosopher's Stone book, it's here... (you might have to copy and paste link) englishonlineclub.com/pdf/Joanne%20K.%20Rowling%20(Harry%20Potter,%20Book%201)%20-%20Harry%20Potter%20and%20the%20Philosophers%20Stone%20[EnglishOnlineClub.com].pdf It's interesting, that in this book, Harry Potter is looking for a hard to find book, and the book deals with Flamel. An excerpt from the book is included.

Still working on the cipher.... I would think the US version might be the version you would want vs. Philosopher's stone but then again I haven't solved the cipher so IDK. My problem is keeping track of everything I'm trying. I can't pinpoint a starting place but what's really killing me is grouping of the numbers....either I just use singles, or pair the numbers, or groups of three. And then from there trying to figure out what exactly to count. I have pages and pages of notes and feel like I'm circling back lol.
