I submitted a guess that involves a brick. I didn't find it until October 3rd though so I'll have to wait a month to see if it's right. from “October clue” thread Was this the day he got that brick dedicated to him at the distillery? the issues with it being that brick are 1) Pete specifically says 4 by 4 inch plot of land, 2) how does it fit the many clues, and 3) how would a person get that info? were you able to support youre submission with the reasoning behind the solve? Curious to see if and what Pete responds?

Here's where I thought "Where am I?"
I Fly (a flag flies) like a realized Bourbon Red. (The Hen weighs 18 pounds at maturity when they are 'realized'...) The 18th state (States have flags) both in terms of the order of entering the Union AND alphabetically is Louisiana (as well as the 18th Ohio Class Submarine USS Louisiana SSBN-743).... with a pointy head and feathers on my butt - simply stated a bird.... John James Audubon was an naturalist as well as noted bird artist to say the least.. A Birdy, with the previously mentioned repetition of the number 18 ... I'm feeling Golf... And that leads to the Audubon Park Golf Course in New Orleans.... Where am I?
The flag that you are "Flies" in the cup at the 18th hole (4 inch diameter) of the Audubon Park Golf Course in New Orleans LA.... THAT is where you are.

It's been so long since I revisited this riddle that I've forgotten the requirements. Is this armchair or BOTG? Specifically, are we required to retrieve a proxy item, or simply tell Pete the location solution? I'm guessing it's the latter since folks here are proposing solutions that preclude retrieval of anything.

. gnossos, there are some good points in your ideas. I havent checked the location against the monthly clues.
One thing I believe that Pete would do is put some type of location hint, per se, in the original clue. So, just like the HOT SPRINGS from the book, he possibly put BORE in this riddle. The golf hole would certainly align with that. The 18th hole could also align with “realized”. Using the end letters of Bourbon Red, like he hinted with “Hinds, the Camel” would give ONED. BORE ONED, BORED ONE, a golf hole?
Was Pete being imprecise about the a precise location of a 4x4 inch plot of land, since the golf hole is 4,25 inch? I think thats possible.
zaphod, the avatars had thrown me off a bit. I thought you may have lost your original login and come back with a different name (some posters have) and similar avatar.
