Let's for a moment think that the reason for the delay is that there was a proxy item after all, namely: The bracelet.
If so then Forrest would have received a photo of his bracelet proving the location had been found.
It may well be that the treasure hunt was to lead us to the bracelet and it was the star player in all this. For sure Forrest would know quite categorically that the chest had not been found because the bracelet was the title to the gold all along. This would cause some delay if retrieving the chest of gold from the place Forrest hid it had to be arranged and photos taken.
The means of cracking this puzzle was in part to use words whose letter counts in the alphabet produced numbers relevant to things we should know as some proof of solving the puzzle. To convince you of this think back to Jenny Kiles six questions with Forrest 2018, this was when he said, amongst other things "I have a gut feeling it will be found this summer" maybe this will convince you of why he said that, if you write out the word 'Treasures' like this and do the sum you will see what I mean:
T R - E A S U R E S Notice the year 2018 followed by his age that year 88
20 18 5 1 19 21 18 5 19
Is this not convincing of a system? So go to the chapter 'IMPORTANT LITERATURE' where Forrest mentions throwing 'Catcher in the Rye' in the trash where it landed right on top of a 'TIME' magazine, he later retrieves 'Catcher' but 'TIME' remains in there. Now add up the letters of TIME the same way and you will get 47 which is the atomic number for 'SILVER' which has to relate to the bracelet. Now do the same with the word 'TRASH' and you will see it adds up to 66
and 6 is F so we have 'FF' for Forrest Fenn. The cistern at Adelaide is littered with trash inside, a lot of it.
I believe the Bracelet was in there in a Bronze frog jar under water in mud. The metal components of Bronze are:
COPPER atomic number 29 and TIN atomic number 50 giving us 79 add on 47 for SILVER and you get 126 or 1 to 6
the six verses of the poem. If the bracelet was anywhere it would have been hidden inside by his birth sign of 'LEO'.
To prove this go to the cistern on Google Pro and enlarge it, find the centre of 'LEO' and put the cursor at this point and in the Latitude numbers you should see 38 33 34 24 referenced, these numbers total up to 129 or '1 to 9' confirming the 9 Clues solved. It does work if done accurately. This would confirm that 'SILVER' was in there. indigo
