Too much time in my office. Too much time putting me and my wife off. Too much time juggling my calendar. My desk has always been there when I got back. I need to remember that more.
Last summer I woke up with three moose bedded down about 100 yards away. I had a humming bird fly up and investigate my red coat thinking he had hit the flower jackpot. I nearly wet my pants when a marmot looked in my tent eye to eye with me and suddenly scream a warning call in my face. I had forgotten how dry you can stay under a pine, even in heavy rain. Or the sound of rocks falling in the night.
Just a few days ago I had ice on my beard, rain on my hat and a sunburn on my nose.
I'll be heading out again in 2 weeks to spend a week with my wife hunting for nothing but time together out there.
