The scissors were for cutting the trip wire, so the finder could defuse the situation and walk away with the treasure box

I'm confident he had the blaze before he (or an associate) left home, and he went straight to the chest with confidence. Yes, but you don't 'KNOW' that, and that is why we are asking the finder, because he does....... What if all we are personally thinking is incorrect? That is a possibility.... Yes, my apologies, Jenny. I realize these are meant as rhetorical questions that folks would like the finder to answer (rhetorical because he's never going to do so here). I'll leave my opinions out of it.

I'll leave my opinions out of it. It's true he might not answer them 'here' or now, but he could see them, and maybe offer answers to them in some way, in some time.... we don't know what the finder has in mind yet, or of what he wants or wants not to do..... I'm hopeful he will answer some eventually..... and believe he'll do what he can.... when he can..... I'm so very thankful he let us know it was found. Very appreciative of that. I think sometimes it is forgotten he could have left us all continue on the Chase, when the Treasure was found. So Thank YOU, FINDER!

Mr. Finder,
Would you be willing to make a statement to the search community through Forrest? He could pass it on to us anonymously on your behalf. Any information would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you,
Goldilocks

Honestly- I don’t think the scissors have anything to do with the solve, the blaze, or any symbol at all. Do we even know they were with the chest?

I think the poem itself was simple: "It" was a trail, "Warm waters halt" was a trout stream, "Put in" was a boat or raft, "Home of Brown" was Brown Trout, "No place for the meek", water becomes deeper and rougher at this point, "The end is ever drawing nigh", the water is starting to come to an end you need to come ashore to the left, "Heavy loads and water high", rocks and a waterfall, "The blaze" at the end of the trail is a trail braze, that shows where you need to go next, look quickly down the opposite trail, overhanging rocks conceals the treasure, tarry scant means don't spend much time here because of snakes and bears etc, your effort will be worth the cold, cold hard cash, "In the wood", means in the woods/forest, where there are bears, and snakes and many other dangers.
There were no anagrams, no ciphers or codes, nothing but old timey style writing, which is understandable being that he was an 80 year old man, and a lot of the verbiage, is what you find in the bible. In fact, that is one of the reasons that made this so hard for everybody, because there was no ciphers or codes to solve to come up with a definitive answer, only the interpretation of a poem (Forrest always told everyone, not to cook his poem, which meant not to put that much thought into or apply "crazy" ideas to it, or try codes or ciphers with it, because it was straightforward, and another thing that made it "hard" is because the search parameter of somewhere North of Santa Fe, in the Rocky Mountains, which has hundreds if not thousands of Canyons, and trails, and a lot of the general items talked about in the poem. The only reason Forrest says that there are "hints" in the book, is because he purposely wrote them to increase his notoriety, and to leave a legacy that his father wasn't able to achieve, so he talked about several different places and things that could very easily match his poem, but there are no pinpointed direct hints to the exact location.
I think that Forrest Fenn achieved exactly what he intended, which was to be known for something besides a humdrum Art Dealer and Collector, and to have a legacy and to be google searchable. Just like Kit Williams, Michael Stadther, Byron Pries, H. C Beil, and several others, they will all be known and very famous and searchable because of what they have created.

To me, the most important thing is... Mr. Finder, is there anything now at the site of the treasure that will confirm a correct solve, whether you left something there or not?

"... it is not feasible for you to not leave a footprint somewhere or a dry fly snagged high on a tree limb, left by your back cast." --ff
At the very least, there will be footprints... at least for a while.

That quote has been ringing in my ears ever since I saw the stick and what looks, to me, like fishing line in the TC found pic. There was that quote about a cast into a tree when he was younger, too...I could be imagining it, though.
