I'm figuring out why so few casques are found.

1. It's not easy to figure out.

2. If you do figure it out, chances are it's not close by.

3. If you can go dig for it, it's probably illegal.

4. People who have the connections (like TV shows) won't listen to you (not me, anyway)

5. Other searchers aren't crazy about helping because they have their own theories to try


Having said this, I actually have had some offers of help

I’d also add that nearly 40 years have passed, so some casques may have unintentionally been destroyed (as Boston nearly was) or some may now be buried under bricks or asphalt as areas have been formalized over the years.

There may also be the issue that some of the clues that get us to the burial site are lost to time and so we can’t make sense of them and therefore never find the treasure ground.

Technology hasn’t been kind to us either, in the sense that too many people pull up obscure references using the internet or have some crazy Google Earth image they think is a match. Most of us have gone down the occasional rabbit hole, but some people live in the rabbit hole when it comes to The Secret and contribute nothing meaningful to the search unfortunately.

Hi goldhunter, I think there is also a strong possibility that many newcomers to The Secret may be intimidated by the so called elites (Those who have been doing this for a long time and feel they are somehow experts even though they have not found a casque themselves). In my opinion, given their track record over time, those folks are experts on how not to find a casque. Some may also discourage good ideas that don't coincide with their own (they do not want to be wrong). I would love to hear more fresh ideas from others who are just out there watching. Share your ideas, they may be no better than any others, and you may be as wrong as the rest of us, but you could have one clue right that could help locate a casque. Looking forward to hearing from you.

I'm sure some are intimidated. The "elites" have done some good work but you have to take what they've done and run it through your own filters.

I have some friends who are supposed to check a solve of mine tomorrow. Even though I have a dig spot for them, it's still not easy.

hehe. For now, I have never looked at the alleged Roanoke casque puzzle. You better hurry!

I feel pretty confident on the solve for my friends who are hunting but not confident on hitting the exact dig spot. I have other solves for other puzzles with an easier to hit dig spot- but no hunters.

Again...to find these casques, you have to make attempts. YOU CAN'T MAKE ATTEMPTS!!

Still frustrated. I think I have four strong solves. Maybe none of them are correct. But, maybe at least one is? One would still be great.

Maybe the puzzles aren't that hard. Many people have theories they can't try or perfect.

Heck, by the last count I had 9 solid solves for SF puzzle alone!

Can you dig it? No. No you can't. That's assuming you even get a response.

Nine solid solves. Maybe one is correct. How will you find out. Think of how hard it would be to make a legal attempt. And, if that attempt failed, can you keep trying?
