I ran across this chap out on the trail. I have my suspicions.

That is true. I'm actually a little surprised the finder used the same contact, presumably email, as in 2018 if they really wanted to maximize anonymity.
I remember Ken jumping on me when I was a new in 2018, saying I needed to go read Hod from the beginning, lol. I don't recall him ever posting anything about a solve or botg, though. It sounds as if he's not local to the Rockies if he stopped after 4 or 5 botg. I agree it would be strange to hang around all that time but not go botg.

Ken was firm with newbies; Locolobo even more so. It initially rubbed me the wrong way, but in time I came to appreciate their perspective, and empathize with how tedious excited newbie know-it-alls (guilty as charged) can be. I'm just glad I wasn't one of those brash new searchers who claimed they solved the poem in the first week, month or year!

I agree Cowboy Ken is a contender. And I really expected to hear from him by now. If he’s not the finder, I hope he’s okay.

Very well could have been Ken as he went dark. But so did many others who were commenting throughout May. ff had several monikers going I suspect including Woody Bogg who also stopped commenting abruptly. Perhaps Ken was also one of his..

Dal (and Forrest) have said many times that Forrest only ever posted on his blog as Forrest Fenn or Forrest Fire. "Woody Bogg" was someone else with a clever handle, but not Forrest. I'm confident ken was a searcher based on his earliest posts, and evolution of his thought processes over the years.
