If you'd like to share....Please post any memories that will always hold dear about Forrest below....
I'll be adding over the days....I'm just a bit speechless right now....
But one is when I know he planted a tiny arrowhead in front of me so I could find it...... he was always giving smiles..... and that was a treasure....

Godspeed, Forrest. You brought me out of a deep depression with your chase, and got my head working again, back in the game of life, with so many interesting things involved. I can't thank you enough.

On Forrest's desk in his office he kept a chest full of Presidential dollar coins..... They were 'gold' looking, and he liked to give them away.... I hope we can hide many of these throughout the states...world... for The Chase Legacy..... and in honor of Forrest Fenn: thechaselegacy.com/

Back when the chase first started I had read an article about how Forrest had met John Wayne. So like so many, i emailed him, I asked him what it was like to meet the Duke, His reply was that the reporter had lied and that he had never met the Duke. That got us going back and forth about how unrealistic western movies were. Those emails led to fly fishing the west compared to the northeast. What flies to use rods lines technics etc Over a 10 year period we exchanged emails here and there about fishing and such, but not one of the 50 plus emails mentioned the chase until july when I sent an email asking him if the hunt was over and his reply was "I want to thank you my friend for sharing the love of fishing, your time is spent at the waters edge and that is the only treasure you need"

I sent Forrest an email a couple of weeks ago. I wanted to tell him that I could never repay him for all the Joy and wonderful times my wife Barb and I spent looking for his treasure. I said that I’d make a deal with him though. In lieu of payment I promised to him that I would instill in my two granddaughters a sense of adventure and wonder of all things wild and beautiful in the world to the very best of my ability. He replied back to Barb and I almost immediately to let me know that this was an acceptable deal and thanked us. The next time I am poking around out in the wilderness with my grandkids, Forrest will be close to my heart.

I’m happy that Forrest Fenn was able to see his masterpiece solved before his passing. I am new to hunting and know this man is a legend. May his memory and spirit live on in all of us.
