For what it's worth, most images contain one or more border characters that differ from others on the page. The masquerade solution involved border letters with spurs. I haven't figured how to use these, but I found the following in Fandango:
Image 2, page 5 > F or For
Image 3, page 7 > N of Down; D of Down
Image 4, page 11 > I of Hidden; F of Of; Red E of Measure
Image 5, page 15 > A of across
Image 6, page 17 > F's of Of and Four differ. Notice the F of Of lacks the spur on top and is right above a border marking that is also missing a spur.
Image 7, page 19 > Two styles of R; L of Reflects; E of Smile
Image 8, page 23 > W of Whistle; subtle difference in the two R's
Image 9, page 26 > W of Shadow; E of We; N's differ
Image 10, page 30 > no inconsistencies
Image 11, page 32 > N of Wind; E's of Rise and Speak; A of Speak; F's differ; K's differ
Image 12, page 34-35 > E of Leaps
Image 13, page 40 > F of Of; W's differ
Image 14, page 44-45 > K of Yakity; M's differ
Image 15, page 47 > Y's differ
Image 16, page 51 > no inconsistencies
Image 17, page 55 > A's on right differ from A's on left
