When the fold-in secret was shared in this group, there was some discussion of four-pointed stars that were not yellow/red. The pages with four-pointed "fold-in" compass rose stars that are NOT red/yellow seem to be:
p. 7 Neptune - on the west side of the page, a four-pointed star can be formed with orange, red, blue and yellow points.
p. 30 Harley Quinn - on the south side of the page, a four-pointed star can be formed with orange, red, blue and yellow points.
p. 53 Turning Tide - on the west side of the page, a four-pointed star can be formed with three red and one blue point. p. 55 Two Together - on the west side of the page, a four-pointed star can be formed with yellow, red, brown and blue points.
In each case, the center of the stars aligns with the inner border (between the border phrases and the image), a feature that is also true for all of the red/yellow stars. This makes me think that these multi-colored stars are intentional.
Does it matter that they are not red / yellow, like the compass rose on the map and on the back cover of the book?
pumalion, thank you for this list. Now we just need to figure out if these seemingly intentional 'compass roses', both red/yellow and multi-colored have some purpose. I wonder if the location on each page reveals some instructions for that page.

I am posting this just to throw out some ideas on the folded pages/ compass roses.
For clarification, I am using the word 'rose' for the 4-pointed stars formed by folding the pages because they resemble the 4-pointed compass roses on the map and the back of the book.
There are the six 'roses' that have red/yellow points:
pg 5 Fandango. Fold top to bottom, rose is on the right side. Color is on the right of each point. pg. 11 Key. Top to bottom, on the right. Color on the right. pg. 19 Nikon. Side to side, at the top. Color on the right. pg 32 Indian. Top to bottom, on the left. Color on the left. pg. 40 Lady. Top to bottom, on the left. Color on the right. pg. 47 Topsy Turvy. Top to bottom, on the left. Color on the right.
And there are four multi-colored roses: pg. 7 Neptune. Fold top to bottom, rose on the left. Red/Orange/Blue/Yellow. Color on the left. pg. 30 HQ. Side to side, at the bottom. Orange/Blue/Yellow/Red. Color on the right. pg. 51 A Turning Tide. Top to bottom, on the left. Red/Red/Blue/Red. Color on the right. pg 55 Two Together. Top to bottom, on the left. Red/Yellow/Blue Orange. Color on the left.
There are two other pages where the stars can be lined up by folding and they also form compass roses, but one has 5 points and one is a little off-kilter:
pg 23 Lobsterman. Fold top to bottom, rose is on the right. It has 5 points, Blue/ Yellow/ Yellow/ Blue/ Yellow. Color on the right. This one lines up by overlapping the border, so only the bottom border is visible. Interestingly, the red letters line up to spell NO.
pg. 26 Fairies. Top to bottom, on the left. 4 points, Red/Blue/Red/Blue. Color on the left. This one hides all borders and in order to get it to line up, you have to fold the page a little crooked to get the rose to fall into place. Also interesting for this one is that the red letters spell MAD.
It almost seems that these two are telling us not to use them, even though you can technically get a compass rose by folding the page, one is 5-pointed and the other is a little crooked. Both of these pages also represent a 'trap' of some sort.
That leaves the two-page images, Fire and Cadillac, along with Criss Cross and FOP that do not have any matching corner stars.
My observations are:
1. On these folded pages, there are roses in every position - North (by folding the Nikon page), South (HQ), East (Fandango, Key) and West (Indian, Lady, Topsy, Neptune, Turning Tide, Two Together).
2. The side of the point the color appears varies from right to left on both the red/yellow roses and the multi-colored ones. I don't know if this is significant.
3. Three of the four multi-colored roses have one point each of Red, Yellow, Blue and Orange. The remaining one is Red/Blue/Red/Blue.
4. The FOP page, with no matching corners, might hold the key to interpreting the corner roses. The flagpole seems to indicate the 4 directions, NSEW, along with the NEWSpaper. One of Four could refer to the points on each rose, possibly suggesting a direction for each page? The flagpole shadow and the arrow in the grass seem to represent a clock.
5. On page 15, when you Criss Cross the border words, you get DOUBLE CROSS, which suggests this page is a red herring. The illustration is void of anything revealing. Pel said it was unlikely the key will be found by chance. The red word for this page is CHANCE, so it is unlikely this page will help solve the puzzle. The border includes "No Escape." The whole page seems to be telling us it is a trap, or a red herring.
6. I'm not sure how to interpret the Fire page in this context. Maybe because it is all red it is also a red herring page, but I'm not sure about this. I know we can all read into every page, but besides the Roman numeral 1947, there isn't much in it. It is a representation of the fox's dream, so maybe it's not 'real'?
7. The two-page Cadillac illustration seems important for a lot of reasons. I won't list them all here, but one of its purposes could be the Red/Yellow Book directing us to the red/ yellow compass "roses" formed by folding the pages. 8. Page 19, Nikon tells us to FO/LD the pages and it suggests the compass roses by the NSEW border letters that spell ROSE.
Now if someone could tell me what to do with this...!

Also..... my theory hasn't been spoken of anywhere on here. Has anyone read the words in the ocean on the bass harbor lobsterman page? There's more than surfaces..... so I figured to look DEEP. I believe this is all based on the chakras and zodiac...... the woman in the window is virgo with her sheath of wheat..... the sieur de monts page is the "ROOT" on the chakra.... It also plays with hermetic principles, Fibonacci and Gnosticism. I'm 15 mins from Bar Harbor and took next week off to hunt. If you want me to check somewhere for you and you are right.... we can split it! My Dad is dying and I told him I'd find the key years ago..... I just want to make him proud! You may leave me a message at number Two zero seven, four six zero, six four zero zero......
