If a shadow or ray of sunlight, etc is important to the find, then the end date of the hunt should take that into consideration. I mean, you wouldn't end the hunt during days after it was no longer findable.

Who said a shadow or ray of sunlight is important to the find?

Not me. Personally, I doubt it. But, it's possible and I seem to remember it being mentioned.
I thought the logic might be important to someone.

I’m unsure at this point if it’s important, but definitely could be.
I’m addition to it being important to the Masquerade solution...
Harleys bookshelf On pg30 contains a blue book that appears to be “the lengthened shadow” by William J Locke.
Pg 45 has a rock in the lower right hand corner that appears to have a lengthened shadow that extends to the center of the picture. This is the same rock that (debatably) has a hidden bear or fox.

I'm not sure why you wouldn't end the hunt during days after it was no longer findable. I mean, the hunt has to end sometime. It's not like it was only a one year hunt.
